If you spend more than we say you can afford, it'll cost you. Pricks

Restricts those with ambition, except the sportswashing states.

Also does nothing about the UEFA spending rules so the sports washers will need away round those.

Also would this payment be classed as commercial income? If a big team goes over I. The summer window when does the money get load? If it’s immediately then all benefit potentially in the next January.

Of course if everyone gets a payment then all you do is level the playing field out a few million higher.

Plus let’s say Chelsea go batshit mental and they have form. They blow through a limit by £100m and pay 200% luxury tax to allow them to do so.

It’s just over £10m each to the other clubs. Hardly game changing.

I'd rather it just be a hard cap, but that's never ever happening is it.

Rather like the "more guns" is the solution.

Rotherham officially relegated from The Championship after a home defeat to Plymouth.

Feels like they've been hovering above those spots for a few seasons now.

I forget which season’s Rotherham are in or out the championship

We’ll start knowing unofficially in the next hour

Two additional points. Not sure on the rationale.

"An independent commission has given an immediate two-point deduction to Everton FC for a breach of the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules (PSRs) for the period ending season 2022/23."

“Over a three-day hearing last month, the independent commission heard evidence and arguments from the club in respect of a range of potential mitigating factors for its admitted breach of £16.6million, including the impact of its two successive PSR charges. Having done so, the commission determined the appropriate sanction to be a two-point deduction, taking effect immediately."

In its written reasons the independent commission said the Premier League had asked for a five-point deduction for the club.

The commission decided that any breach of PSR justifies a three-point deduction, with an additional two points because Everton's breach of £16.6m - 15.8% above the £105m threshold - is deemed significant.

However, the commission accepted Everton's arguments for mitigation in relation to the fact the club has:

  • Already been deducted points this season
  • Suffered a loss of revenue because of the suspension of a sponsorship deal with Russian company USM
  • Made an early admission of guilt
So there we have it... break the rules and we'll find a way to reduce the point deduction you should have had providing you admit guilt. And despite this clear breach, some Everton fans think the EPL has an agenda against them.

We've lost more points through dodgy decisions!

Everton should be thankful it’s only 8 points in total, moaning that Man City have got away with it is futile. No they haven’t and their day will come.

I'm not going to be churlish, it's really exciting for Blues and the City if it comes off, but they couldn't fill a 60k stadium with anything other than tourists for any game unless they are giving tickets away. Make it 35-40 and don't let your ego get in the way.
