I honestly don’t think that should be allowed. The rules need to be less binary and be more common sense. The game isn’t binary, there will always have to be shades of grey. If people can understand why something is given/not given then you will accept it better than being on the wrong end of a binary rule. You'd still have some what should be legitimate goals chalked off then like the Rice one at Sheff Utd
As long as it's consistent I think it'll be much more palatable. No one wants to be offside by a toenail, but being offside because there is a slither of daylight is fine. The issue isn't where you draw the line. The issue is understanding that it is impossible to be millimetre accurate on whether someone is off or not.
If they are clearly off by eyeballing a replay, give them off, if not then don't. None of this stupid lines business when we don't have cameras with the fps to be that accurate.
If you introduce this daylight rule and use it the way offside is currently being judged you will still have controversy.
As someone said the technology isnt accurate enough for the lenghts they go to drawing the lines. The issue isn't where you draw the line. The issue is understanding that it is impossible to be millimetre accurate on whether someone is off or not.

'http://www.skysports.com/share/12236456I’d have liked to have seen today’s Newcastle press conference. Frenzy’s mysteries, leaks. Apparently Bruce is the chief suspect but if nothing else he’s got the plot lines for his next masterpiece.
