Didn't they have some ridiculous repayments to meet in the early years? Sort of thing where if they missed the Champions League 1 year they'd probably have defaulted and lost the club?

The year they sold Ronaldo basically covered a massive chunk of interest on the debt. That's about as much as I know

It seems to almost always be the case that when it looks utterly innocuous, the injury is dreadful. Assombalonga has been one of the few high points of the season for Forest fans so losing him for a huge chunk of time is devastating. He isn't realistically stepping onto a pitch again this side of pre-season 2016-2017.

State of Blackpool's pitch!! Probably be better playing future home games on the beach, when the tide is in

Maybe Blackpool have the pitch like that on a purpose so that their motley crew of free transfers can battle with higher quality opponents.
There must be some away players who turn up there and dont fancy it without a perfect playing surface.

Back in the 'good old days'....

That pitch is shambolic, and i have no doubt Oyston will refuse to have anything done about it.

Derby County's Baseball ground was like a WWI battlefield, but it did not stop them playing some great football.

Maybe if they are trying to recreate that, they should pay their players a few shillings a week....hold on, Oyston's plan suddenly becomes clearer

Yeah, we should make the pitches poor on purpose. Then we'd see who the real men are

I don't get how a pitch gets that bad? Uncared for park pitches with dog shit on aren't even that bad?

Do they use it for training perhaps? It would easily get that cut up if they're on it 5-6 days a week.

Don't think it has been properly relaid for years. It was diabolical when we played up there under Solbakken.

Yeah buts that's why clubs normally employ groundsman? That would at least keep it respectable

Nope. They have some old school looking place where they do training. Remember seeing the pics in the pre-season when 6 players were available

Does their ground have undersoil heating?

I've known some teams relocate their training to the stadium during winter to take advantage of such facilities when they're lacking at the training ground.

Don't think Bloomfield Road has undersoil heating let alone the crappy training ground. Seem to recall them having a PL game called off due to a frozen pitch, maybe even more than one as I'm sure at one stage they had games in hand over everyone else at the bottom (and lost them all).

I've got a feeling they had to install it when promoted. As well as making there ground respectable.

Tragic really that they made all that money from promotion, spent none of it and the club is still worse off.

EDIT: nope DW is right. They did have postponements for PL games.
