Apparently there’s an Exorcist reboot due out next year. Totally understand people raging about it as the original was a masterpiece but it’s 47 years old now. I’ll be looking forward to it anyway.

Watched Da 5 Bloods on netflix over the weekend, stylistically odd but a very good film

Watched 'Us' last night. Pretty good. Interesting idea and some of the performances were really creepy. Much better than his hugely overrated first film Get Out.

Agreed. Although out of the ones I’ve seen of those you’ve listed I only really thought one was even halfway good (Psycho). I’ve got no problem with old classics being reimagined if they’re done right (Evil Dead was OK and Rob Zombie’s Halloween was excellent) but for the most part they’re too attached to the originals to not compare them which will always draw comparisons.

The Exorcist is a tough one, it’s such a classic that people won’t be able to help but compare. It’ll be interesting to see.

I think they are batting on a sticky wicket. The original is a classic, absolute perfection. Whoever is in the main lead is going to suffer in comparison to the brilliance of Max Von Sydow. And Regan is always going to be Linda Blair.

Good luck to them, but it’s a lot to live up to.
