The F1 Thread

It's not a legitimate championship without three continents. So Canada will happen to get two but they would need something in Asia, presumably Bahrain or Abu Dhabi.

I don't think normal rules apply right now. If they get 12-15 races (which is the target) where they are raced won't matter.

No sport is doing things normally. Take our Europa League run, we are likely to lose our home game v Olympiakos as it looks like all games will be moved to Frankfurt

Mexico are still keen to host (can't see that myself with their Covid numbers rising rapidly now). Bahrain and Abu Dhabi say they can both host double headers if needs be.

Two races in Bahrain would be decent as that circuit gets a lot of overtaking.

Be amazed if Mexico goes ahead. The Race of the Americas might as Texas seems to be a free for all despite rising numbers and the President of Brazil will also want their race to go ahead

Sao Paulo is basically crime central on top of the huge Covid numbers. F1 themselves might be less than keen.

Without a doubt they will say fuck right off and then their Trump-Max President will remove Brazil from the calender and probably try to start his own F1 series or something just as ridiculous

Canada seems the most sensible to include from a safety point of view, but it needs to be no later than when the Singapore race was scheduled or there is a risk of racing through snowdrifts. Whilst this would be entertaining the dangers to the drivers would be scary as fuck.

Texas may be fully opened up in time I suppose and it is a brilliant circuit but the numbers in the US are insane and there is no realistic way Trump is going to get things under control at all. Plus he would probably use it as an electoral platform to show how great he has made America in managing to stage a race while diverting attention from the mountains of corpses and burning streets.

Alex Zanardi in very serious condition in hospital following crash with a lorry on his handbike. Doesn't sound great, hope he pulls through.

The Rockitless Williams looks a millions time better

That looks superb. Are there any night races coming up? Will look great under the lights.

Alonso back to Renault and in the car this season apparently.

McLaren starting well.

Merc, visually, looks awesome.

See Red Bull are still bitching about the Merc DAS steering wheel system.

Standard for Red Bull if something is new.

Martin Brundle's son Alex commentating for Sky on F2. No idea whatsoever why Lewis thinks its tough for kids to break into motorsport.

Red Bull lodge protest against Mercedes dual-axis steering system (DAS), on grounds that it is a movable aerodynamic device and that it constitutes an illegal adjustment to suspension while the car is in motion (articles 3.8 and 10.2.3 of technical regulations)

It would be a farce if it now deemed wrong to use it as Merc involved the FIA throughout the process and got approval for this season. Under the new regs it will be banned though
