i think it is down to frustration...anyway, would love to see hamilton vs vettel in an equal car..guess they are about equal race drivers

Not a lot between the 2 cars this season, I would say the last 2 races Vettel has had the better car but he fooked up and the engine did it for him (although he fucked up after the race and could cost him in Japan before its even started)

Nothing excuses the shit he pulled in Baku though, frustrated or not.

agree the thing in Baku was very bad..

Vettel is undoubtedly a great driver but I still rate Hamilton slightly higher. Ricciardo has already proved a match for Vettel in the past and Verstappen is potentially the best of the lot. Seb won't ever allow one of those to be his team mate again though so we'll never get a 'fair' fight.

Wish the cars were more even in F1...not about drivers anymore sadly

That's a bonkers thing to say based in recent races . Hamilton put it on pole last week with a massively inferior car, and won the race the week before with again an inferior car!

Bit of a cake walk for him today, but was head and shoulders above his team mate with the same car.

This season, to me, seems way more about the driver than for many years.

F1 is not about drivers for some time ago unfortunately

People have been saying that since I've been watching F1, which is sadly quite a long time.

I don't see anythjbg different now with Ferrari v Mercedes, than mclaren v Williams etc from 30 years ago.

Well yeah, sort of my point..nothing different really.. loved watching the indy series, much more exciting..like F1 even though not equal for teams but imagine if more cars were competitive with the best drivers around competing...

F1 has always been about more than the drivers - its the pinnacle of engineering. A lot of the new high efficiency engines in road cars are a direct consequence of the move to more efficient engines in F1 3 years ago. The current merc engine can hit 50% efficiency - that's amazing and light years ahead of what was possible a few years ago.

F1 costs a lot to compete in, only way we will see more cars at the top are if BMW, Ford or VW join.

yeah, agree with that

Palmer has just said on twitter that he's leaving Renault after this race.

Palmer is gone for sure.

I love Suzuka. Probably only behind Spa as a circuit.

Sainz moving early. Palmer offski (not sure he could stay with how Renault dealt with his axing for next season). Presume it means Kyvatt is back in after this race for Toro Rosso

So Charles Leclerc has absolutely smashed the F2 championship. Pretty impressive given they're all in identical cars, I watched some of it today and was surprised by the gaps between drivers when all in the same machinery, I would have expected it to be a lot closer

aye, top teams..
1 Charles Leclerc Prema Racing 1h01m31.999s
2 Oliver Rowland DAMS 0.230s
3 Antonio Fuoco Prema Racing 0.917s
4 Nicholas Latifi DAMS 1.236s
5 Artem Markelov RUSSIAN TIME 2.685s
6 Jordan King MP Motorsport 6.744s
7 Luca Ghiotto RUSSIAN TIME 8.017s

a lot of different teams for sure..

So all cars the same but 1 driver dominates..odd one that eh Freddie...

Think there was a late safety car which brought them together, Leclerc was 6 seconds clear when I was watching and over 60 points ahead in the championship.

Have to say Williams have started to annoy me, they have a shit car with a good engine so just form road blocks every race

It's been such a long time that Kimi was even remotely close to challenging at the front, so I can't remember if he has always been such a miserable bastard even when he was winning?

Yep. Kimi has one tone he speaks in when the camera is put in front of him whether he wins or not. Apparently away from the track and cameras he is loud and happy person.

Great end to the race today between Lewis and Max. Ferrari have proper fucked it up in the last 6 weeks. Only a bizarre set of circumstances stop Lewis taking his 4th title now.
