The F1 Thread

I'll miss Hockenheim. Personally think it's a cracking track.

Old Hockenheim was. They ruined it by getting rid of the long runs in the trees.

Classic Hockenheim was great. Magny Cours is terrible.

I still like the new Hockenheim. Obviously it isn't a patch on 'old' Hockenheim, but it's still a very good track.

Magny-Cours is actually worse than the multiple Tilkedromes of the last 15+ years. Has nothing going for it at all, even the location* is abysmal.

*Ie where it is in France, not being in France full stop.

It was subject to one of the best passes I've ever seen when Alonso did Heidfeld in 07 (sadly there's sod all footage of it) but otherwise it is normally impossible to follow anybody beyond the hairpin.

The final sector is horrible.

You will get overtaking at paul ricard. Massive long straight with tight corner at the end. Rest of the lap somewhat less than memorable.

Bottas the number 1 choice for Mercedes. Negotiations have started and will be about how much Williams can get discounted from the price of the engines they get from from Mercedes.

Wolff is part of Bottas' management team.

Paddy Lowe is going to join Williams and be replaced by the guy that left Ferrari earlier this year (Allen?)

James Allison.

Interested to see where Williams look ehen they're sitting on an 18 year old in the other seat seat. Paddy Lowe is a coup. I heard Mclaren wanted him back too.

Offered Pascal by Mercedes but will be surprised if they go with him.

BBC seem to think Nasr is a possibility

I think Bernie needs to hire someone better at writing taglines for the official DVDs.

Sounds like a review for a terrible nativity play.

Massa putting retirement on hold and returning to Williams. Bottas off to Mercedes

Makes his tearful farewell at Interlagos a bit #awks :icon_lol:

Wasn't tears that was the rain obvs...

Manor into Administration and that will be probably be the end of them.

Sauber picking up those two points in Brazil properly fucked them over with the prize money.
