The Darts Thread

Price had been growing on me recently and being a little less of a twat on the ochre. Then after he got knocked out of a recent tournament in Germany he tweeted that Reform were going to win Caerphilly. So back to being a c**t.

Yeah, same.

I'd take him over Wade 100 times out of 100 regardless, I despise that fat horrible cunt.

What a performance that was from Greaves, phenomenal stuff at that age against a player like that, proper talent

There's gonna be some one sided complete waste of time BDO level shite in that first round.
Yep. You used to have a round of 78 plays 75 average jobbers but now it'll just be pretty much universal walkovers for the top 20 or more seeds. Beau could beat Gurney I suppose. Extending it to the point that King and Whitlock (combined age of over 120) have got back in despite dropping off tour and no longer playing serious darts sums it up.

Although hopefully Wade continues his horrific Ally Pally record in recent years and gets drummed out before Christmas.

The other thing is that doubling the prize money (I assume it's not just the top prize, and that all the rounds have gone up incrementally) is going to massively skew the rankings all in one go.

Rob Cross for instance is in huge, huge trouble if he goes out early.

£200k dropping off from 2024 so he needs to make that much to stand still.

He's already slipped to 17 after a terrible year as it is. Could even end up outside the top 32!

Pretty sure Michael Smith went from 2 to 21 or something last year just off the Worlds.

Good! Although I'm sure he's probably got a load of money stashed away anyway siphoning it from his dodgy LTD company instead of paying his taxes and creditors.

My old school pal Jim Williams hasn’t made it after an appalling year and run of results. Shame as I’ve enjoyed seeing him on the box over Christmas these last few years!

All those players but it’s hard to look past the two Luke’s. They really are in a league of their own.

Bunting aside, today's order of play (afternoon and evening) is proper WDF stuff.

Ritchie Edhouse 0-3 Jonny Tata
Dom Taylor 3-0 Oskar Lukasiak
Richard Veenstra 2-3 Nitin Kumar
Joe Cullen 3-0 Bradley Brooks

Evening Session (1900 GMT)
Round One x4
Lukas Wenig v Wesley Plaisier
Dimitri Van den Bergh v Darren Beveridge
Stephen Bunting v Sebastian Bialecki
James Hurrell v Stowe Buntz

Only 3 averages above 90 this afternoon and two of those players (Veenstra and Brooks) lost.

Although my post above was more in relation to the name value of the players (half a dozen most folk will never have heard of) rather than the standard.
