The huge difference for me is when they miss the treble 20, the PDC players miss it by a couple of mm most times. These blokes miss it by a centimetre or more.
There are some nice individual throws but the consistency isn't the same. The finishing is of lower quality as well. Much lower.
There is literally no point in offering a cash prize for highest finish any more in the PDC. Most tournaments have at least a couple of 170 outs. Offering it here says it all.
Twice McGeeney has hit a 180 in the few minutes I have watched and then followed it with a bag of nails.

When the BBC gave up on this I thought that would be it with no TV cash, but presumably Eurosport and Quest have given just about enough to keep it viable.
You also forget how small the Lakeside is compared to Ally Pally. And yet it is bigger in terms of capacity than the old circus tavern (which was a brilliant venue to go to as a spectator).
