The Darts Thread

The way Adams sometimes throws his last dart is weird. Gives it a big sideways wave with his arm instead of following straight through.

Even though Adams won the set, I found it strange that he went for the bull on 91

Great stuff.

I reckon Squeeze has sent Paddy to bed with no supper.

BBC insist of interviewing the runner up before the champion.

Scott Mitchell will get his chance on a bigger stage as the winner of the BDO when he gets invited to the Grand Slam of Darts.

Nah - I am still here! Just had to watch on the computer so I couldn't comment on here. Delighted for Mitchell. A good and exciting game of darts, even though the averages were only mid-nineties. When the standard of the players is so close it can still be great entertainment.

Not the greatest game in the world but it was close. Mitchell just about deserving due to his finishing, Adams living up to his rep as a bottler? Maybe but give him a bit of credit after his mammoth 11 setter last night.

Norris, Dekker, Wilson and Green all going to PDC Q School. Not sure I really want any of them involved, they aren't good enough. Kong already had one go and was shit even before he got banned.

I think the conclusion is that Mensur Suljovic should move to the BDO.

Some proper washed up dross on there. Paul Nicholson, John Part, Mark Webster, Dennis Smith, Kevin McDine. Would be surprised if many of them lasted much longer on the tour as there are plenty of good players up and coming. Wayne Jones is thinking of calling it a day as well.

Wayne Jones just isn't good enough anymore same with Webby and Nicholson. They all seem to go to pot on the big stage but they're probably making a good living on the tour circuit.

There was an E&S article around Christmas with Wayne saying it was possibly time to get a proper job as darts wasn't going to pay the bills much longer.

Probably would have a decent chance of at least the semis at the BDO looking at those averages. Dan is absolutely right about Suljovic. Every year I watch him play really well in a prelim or first round PDC game at Ally and he just can't get a win over the line.

Unreal game between Chisnall and MVG in the Masters.

10-9 to MVG who had a 109 average. But Chisnall had an average of 108 and hit thirteen 180s!!

Brilliant finishing from both and it ultimately went down to throw in the last leg.

Yup 20 maximum's in 19 legs + at least a couple of 177's, a completely mad standard of darts. When its played at that pace and with that amount of quality it is a really great game to watch.

Managed to go the whole weekend missing the darts. Oh well, Blackpool Matchplay goes on sale tomorrow so will be sorting tickets out for that.

This Comic Relief darts program isn't far off watching the real BDO tournament.

Yeah it's been very enjoyable though.

Tim Vine has been very impressive with a couple of 140s and a final dart away from a couple of ton-plus checkouts. In fact after four legs he had a better three dart average than his partner and professional darts player Darryl Fitton :icon_lol: He got three out of the five doubles to win the legs too.

My favourite nickname so far has to go to Martin Offiah with "Chariots Offiah". Brilliant!

That was his nickname 25 years ago when he was playing rugby...

Ah. It's a good one in any case.

Richard Osman looked half decent yesterday too, though he was shaking like a shitting dog half the time.
