The Darts Thread

Great final, great tournament, great champion.

brilliant brilliant game

Top game, either of them could have won it. It swayed all over the shop. Just as one got going, the other nailed them back. Some dreadful shots at D16 & D8 from Taylor though through out the Final

Best fiver I've chucked down the drain in a long while. Well done Gary.

Hopefully that bird doesn't do the interview.

Strangely flat at the end. No massive celebration and rather than congratulating the winner, Taylor turned his back and put his darts away and it was Anderson that went to him. Pompous prick

At least it shows Taylor is still no pushover and shouldn't be thinking about retirement just yet. Great Final

Why's he shaking the walk on girls hand?

Get in there Gary Anderson!! Brilliant for him to win but in fairness i would have supported whoever was playing Taylor. I'd have tickled his chin, signed the board the lot if i was Anderson.

Rod Studd is bumbling through this interview. Not bothered about Gary's words. Let's get Phil in to say why HE lost it.

Huybrechts and Bunting in the PL.

Pleased for Bunting.

Big fan of Bunting. Spent a while talking to him at Bolton two years ago. Really nice guy off the board.

I love Gary Anderson and think he could do it this year.

18th December.

Did I put any money on it....well put it this way, I'll be working tomorrow.

Meanwhile:

I hate to say this because I really really want Taylor not to win the title but Gary Anderson won't beat Taylor if he gets to the final.

Just catching up on the BDO "highlights" (I use the term advisedly). Baldy Waites playing like shit against some kid but getting through with 21 dart legs and the like.

The following players got knocked out in the first round of the PDC World Championship:

Joe Cullen
Stuart Kellett
John Weber
Justin Pipe
Ryan de Vreede
Paul Nicholson
Andrew Gilding
Jyhan Artut
Daryl Gurney
Gerwyn Price
Andy Smith
Dave Richardson
Steve Beaton
Scott Kirchner
Christian Kist
Wes Newton
Boris Koltsov
Ron Meulenkamp
John Michael
Michael Mansell
Simon Whitlock
Wayne Jones
Mervyn King
John Henderson
Jamie Lewis
Robert Marijanovic
Nolan Arendse
Mensur Suljovic
David Pallett
John Part
Rowby-John Rodriguez
Jason Hogg

I reckon at least half of them would walk this tournament. Nine of them went out with 90+ averages in that first round game which is easily enough to be winning any matches here.

I watched the game before the one that Paddy watched yesterday and it was a debutant called Pip Blackwell. He was up against the No.11 seed and lost 3-1. He looked very composed and at home and actually ended up with a 93 average. He had four or five 180s as well. His finishing was OK but the other guy was just clinical on the day. Oh and he had a good 142 checkout too. He says he only practices for 1/2 hour a day because he works 100+ hours a week. Some of these BDO players are on the tour full time and would lose to him regularly IMO.

I'd have been pissed off to lose with a 93 average in that tournament!

They mentioned that 7 people won it on their debut. That would rarely if ever happen in the PC nowadays.

Getting my fix of BDO Women's Darts on BT Sport. Gallagher hasn't got the best look when chucking her darts.

I'm really really glad you were right and Gary deserved to win. I had to mute the game at times because Mardle was boring as fuck when he was moaning about the board.

Jamie Hughes currently playing on BT Sport2
