This is brutal by England. Buttler gone for 83 off 30 balls

Salt is 78 off 28 balls

166/1 off 10 overs!

100 for Salt off 39 balls, quickest ton by an English batter. Previous best 42 balls by Livingston

England finish on 304/2 off their 20 overs

Salt with the highest T20 score of 141 off 60 balls, by an England batter

And England win by 146 runs, a record win for England and South Africa's biggest defeat in a T20

Notts in a strong position vs Surrey. Win this and they're in the box seat to lift the title.

They need to build a decent lead this afternoon as the forecast for tomorrow is crap. Home to Warwickshire in their last game.

223 in front now, six down. If they can get it to 300+ I make them favourites.

Had a couple of shocking LBWs earlier which hampered them too. One was Joe Clarke so I’ll let the umpire off with that one but the 2nd left them 50 odd for 5 so it was a great recovery by Notts.

Well done Josh Tongue and Notts. I’m not a fan of Notts but I don’t like Surrey keep winning the County Championship.

Warwickshire stand between them and the title next week.

Well done Notts. I'm very much in the Anyone But Surrey club - much like United in the 90s, it's not healthy to just have one team (who have way more money than anyone else) win all the time.

Tongue was very very good today, he will leak boundaries at times but he's got something about him.

Warwickshire have only won 3 games all season and a draw is almost certainly enough for Notts.

Huge result for Notts. Now trying to rearrange next week so I can catch some of the game.

Question marks over whether Tongue will play next week as England have only released him for two. Hopefully they agree and they can reduce his load in the ODI series in NZ if needed.

The random spinner generator comes up with Will Jacks for a place on the Ashes tour. I get that there’s not a quality one out there but he’s not a genuine option as one.

Key is an arsehole. Could have just said that it was too much of a risk so we’ll see how he recovers for next season. To make matters worse, Woakes could have had the operation so that it was properly healed rather than the intensive work to try and get back in time.
In other news (if it is as I only heard it today) Keith Barker is back at Warwickshire next season.

I didn’t notice the Woakes comments, but genuinely couldn’t believe it when I heard him on the radio talking about Pope. He’s going to be asking him to go out in the most hostile cricket environment to front up for his country. And to inspire him… he tells him he’s a sht leader. For absolutely no reason. There were loads of other ways he could have phrased it. And, like him enough as I do, it’s hardly like Harry Brook comes across as such a natural leader you’d think ‘well, fair enough’. What a joker.

And who was it who dug the stupid hole in the first place, handing Pope the VC role when it's debatable whether he should ever have been an automatic pick?

Notts need to score 300 runs to secure batting bonus points and therefore the title 🤞

Hampshire relegated (unless Durham totally collapse against Yorkshire on the final day) after also losing the Blast and MetroBank finals in the last fortnight.

Only had to chase 181 vs Surrey and fell 21 runs short.
