The Cricket Thread

Last wicket sums it all either to lazy, unfit or a very bad call.
Probably the most number 11 batsman since the 90’s on show just.

Nice little net run rate gift for SA to

Afghanistan sit on a NRR of over 6 after hammering Uganda by 125 runs. Bowled them out for 58 in 16 overs

Scotland win the toss and bat first.

Wood keeps his place ahead of Topley.

It rained, the pitch somehow got wet, so we aren't playing right now. 4.25 start

Raining again. Jordan getting absolutely belted as he always does outside of the final 5 overs.

By all accounts Ireland and Sri Lanka aren’t to happy with the logistics in the States, lots of travel including 1half hour commute to the training ground. Incidentally India have got less travel and have accommodation very near to the training facilities

Apparently England would to get 66 in a 5 over chase?
Seems daft considering Scotland scored 51 in over 6 overs. Or is it because we can slog knowing we probably won’t be bowled out?

They batted expecting 20 overs, if they'd known it was 5 they'd have gone harder.

Yep, the rain rules for T20 never quite work out that well but they have improved them a bit over time.

We lost in 2010 and 2022 in the groups to West Indies and Ireland due to rain wrecking it, remember the 2010 one being an absolute farce in terms of calculations. Didn't matter as we won the tournament both times anyway.

Got to get back on by 7.52 UK time to have a 5 over chase.

2 overs per bowler so no Wood or Archer for us.

Moeen to complete his over, leaves 3 left. Two for Rashid surely and Jordan can try and repair some of the damage caused by his earlier shit over.

109 to get but it is raining again

Chris Jordan with 24 runs conceded on his 2 overs

I'm not sure we're getting back on here.

Jordan is way, way, way past it, has no business being here (not that I'm sure Scurran is a better option)

Probably better news for England as we tend to enjoy embarrassing defeats at major tournaments

Not officially, but will be abandoned as per GD. Awful result for us

Doubt it'll matter, unless we get completely battered by Aus to wreck NRR or the games vs Oman and Namibia also get wrecked by rain
