They didn’t cover the run ups for 15 minutes and now they are soppingMatch abandoned. Dobell calling out Gloucestershire- I’m not sure why, shit covers?
Worcestershire now promoted. With some terrible weather and even worse batting/scores in the Championship games I fear some crazy declarations and single innings 20 over shootouts could help decide promotion and relegation. Who'd have thought playing the final two championship deciders the last two weeks in September could be ruined by the weather...
I read yesterday that 4 Worcestershire players have already signed for other counties for next year. A couple don't seem to have played much anyway this season but it must be disheartening that your better players go elsewhere each season.Cannon fodder I fear next year, but a great achievement this time around. Was hoping Dolly might get the runs to secure it but he fell one shy. I don't suppose he's too worried.
It's fine they've got Ethan Brookes signing.I read yesterday that 4 Worcestershire players have already signed for other counties for next year. A couple don't seem to have played much anyway this season but it must be disheartening that your better players go elsewhere each season.
There's a long list of awful overseas signings since Jeets packed inKraigg Brathwaite has been a superb oversea's pro signing for Warwickshire.
45 runs in 6 innings.
Four fast bowlers already (2 x Notts, Derbys and Lancs) leaves a big hole is the squad but a bit like Wolves departures over the summer, only Pennington actually seems to be available for much 1st team cricket so it's not as big an issue as the headlines suggest.I read yesterday that 4 Worcestershire players have already signed for other counties for next year. Haynes is going to Notts too isn't he?Four fast bowlers already (2 x Notts, Derbys and Lancs) leaves a big hole is the squad but a bit like Wolves departures over the summer, only Pennington actually seems to be available for much 1st team cricket so it's not as big an issue as the headlines suggest.
Tongue is clearly a loss but only played 5 CC games this year, Brown is almost exclusively white ball only and has been on loan at Derbyshire already for a season anyway and Mitchell Stanley has played one limited overs game only this season. Not quite sure with Stanley whether he's fit or not as he never plays [he certainly has had fitness issues since joining the academy set up from Shifnal as a youth] but Manchester Originals and now Lancashire seem to like him.
Incomings are needed clearly though as although Wolves fan Joe Leach is a great bloke, has a big heart and has got wickets year on year, he'll get pulverised by Div 1 attacks if he's asked to bowl the same amount of overs again next season.
