And his head would have to be the shape of a bumerang to get the ball directed anywhere near the goalAdama will be useful if we have someone as tall as Ajorque to get his head to one of his wayward crosses
Semedo , Jiminez and Moutinho are all members of our present starting 11 in my view . Adama is a definite sub that would be used . Guedes has now joined us .
That's five additional players that will all be available to us sooner rather than later , making our bench look an awful lot stronger . Add Chiniquno on top of that - back in March perhaps .
We'll probably add more new players too before the end of the transfer deadline , and all of a sudden we'll have a much better looking squad .
That being said , I still do not understand Lage's decision to use only one sub last Saturday when 5 were allowed . At 2 - 1 down what had he to lose by bringing on say Ronan , Cundle or Bueno . I simply do not understand that viewpoint .
It's almost as if he wants to make a point to the owners re the thin squad .
I've no issue with him insisting on extra players being signed , but do it privately please .
Deano covered the Leeds part. On the squad, thinking when players a,b,c are fit it's decent is how we ended up with the bench we did on Saturday. It's flawed logic because it fails to assume that players x,y,z may then get injured/suspended. There is no excuse for having 5 players on the bench with no PL experience, one with 15 mins as a sub and another with 2 starts and 2 subs. The remaining 2 covered the same position and would have only come on for injuries. It's indefensible - if we miss Europe/go down (delete as applicable) by between 1 and 3 points that's on the recruitment teams incompetenceSemedo , Jiminez and Moutinho are all members of our present starting 11 in my view . I think he didn't bring them on simply because they weren't as good as the players already on the pitch. He doesn't need to make that point, it's just so evident.I think Lage was making a point by not using subs. He then explicity called for more players in his post match interview. It seems that tactic may have worked.
One thing he's done very well, is make Spiers look vaguely competent.
I'll keep my subscription whilst it's £1 per month, I've used three email addresses on a rotation for a few years to get weirdly low priced offer they throw out every now and again. There's a lot of other decent content on there but equally probably no better than some of the free stuff if you're happy to visit a couple of sites rather than one app
