Summer 2022 Transfer Window

In unrelated randomness the way Nunes carries himself/looks reminds me of Tom Bennett.
Probably not as good in goal.

Now there's a player who suffered for his own versatility. Was good at RB, CH and CM but we had to pick one at some point. We never did.

Was a miles better midfielder than some of the shite we signed.

Surprised we’ve heard no more on a midfielder coming in with Donk off to Villa. Assume Traore will be the one, but all very quiet on that front considering we’re so close to the end of the deadline.

How would people rate our window if we’re unable to get anything else done in terms of incoming?

Decent, especially still having Neves here.

Wil move to very good if we sell Donck and replace and get a decent CB to cover the loss of Boly

Superb if we do the above and sell Hwang and tell Bruno to enjoy his September and other months after it on a beach somewhere in Portugal.

It's not a great window if we end it with just 3 senior midfielders, hopefully that won't be the case, but it leaves us painfully short again.

7/10

Collins and Nunes are genuinely excellent signings. As and when we get a proper manager I think Kalajdzic will be decent. Kept hold of Neves, Ait-Nouri and Neto. Re-signed Moutinho. Getting rid of Donck is the right thing to do. We had to take that money for MGW and seems we've found a good loan for Fabio.

Don't think Guedes is very good and Dawson looks a horrific signing if we go that way. Made Hwang permanent (I know we were tied into him), could have sold him and didn't, which is ridiculous. Probably a bit light in midfield but ultimately there's no point filling the squad with shite like Cheikhou Kouyaté like someone suggested a while back, I don't want rubbish players here "just in case", just in case what?

As it stands - with no more outgoings (I'm assuming Donk has gone btw) - very good. I think we've brought in players who are first team ready and should make a difference. Very excited to see what Nunes can do once he settles in. We've needed a shake up with plenty of comings and goings, and we've got that, adding decent options in multiple positions. And I'm adding half a mark on because until late in the window, it looked like we weren't going to do much business at all. So 8/10

If we can get another CM in before the deadline and shift Hwang permanently - even better.

Hull have signed Adama Traore!

Shit not ours..

Hull City have completed their fifth signing from the Turkish Super Lig this summer. The latest is Adama Traore, who joins after leaving Hatayspor.

I think we'll sign 2 more. A CB and CM.

It will be an excellent transfer window.

Pity wen haven't got the right man in charge.

If we don't replace Donk (which I presume we will) then it will take some of the gloss off the good work we've done so far.

If it's true that we are signing Dawson for around £5m then that will niggle me too. There must be better value for money out there. Not selling Hwang after getting my hopes up would also piss me off. I wouldn't even care about replacing him, I'd rather we picked Chem Campbell tbh.

The incomings have been much better than I expected though. They should all be quality additions.

Presuming we sign a CB and CM then pretty good and way better than I was expecting. Don't like the idea of only 3 quality midfielders seeing as we are currently playing all 3. Bit of soft spot for Ronan but we need better.

If we don't replace Boly or Donk then more short sightedness.

If we do either of the above and sell Hwang then it goes up a few notches ha.

As I've said, I'm fairly relaxed about that. The position has been untenable for ages in my mind but very soon it'll be impossible to ignore that we've gone 20 odd games and hardly won any of them, and he talks a load of shit, and he's got no track record, so he'll go.

Whoever is in charge would probably lose against Liverpool and City so while I would make the change ASAP, it wouldn't impact on those results. Would just stop us wasting time, nothing more than that.

There is no way they'll just let him continue and relegate us, though he's well capable of doing so, even if you handed him Rafael Leao and Joao Felix tonight.

I'd have just settled for keeping Neves!

In all honesty, the window has been far, far better than anyone surely could have predicted two months ago. I wish we'd done our business earlier as I think we've left seven points on the table already, but hopefully we see the benefit sooner rather than later. The signings seem what we needed [including Guedes who I think has looked far better than hes been given credit for so far by some ;)] and we've certainly added players in all the areas I think everyone suggested and possibly more.
I don't think we've lost anyone we desperately didn't want to, taking the MGW money as it made sense as well. The Coady deal is probably the one that think we've cocked up on - a benefactor backed team desperate for a CH should have been buying him and not loaning him without an obligation.

Wasn't the Coady deal an obligation should Everton avoid relegation?

I know Universidad put out that statement rubbishing rumours of selling Osorio, but reading it back now it does only actually rule out selling him before the end of the Chilean season (assuming Google Translate can be trusted). And in general it sounds like the club trying to dampen down a bunch of bad PR about chaotic stuff behind the scenes. Wouldn't rule out that he is actually joining us later this season.

Either way it wouldn't surprise me if we end up with only three CMs again and the plan is to wait until January. Or to just stick to the tried and tested three CM plan that the club apparently love so much.

Who knows with these. We pushed (via Britney) the message that Cutrone (first loan) and Adama were all but done deals, it was all for accounting purposes on their side, etc etc. Never happened.

I don't think he'll be back tbf.

In fairness we now only have 11 games to the World Cup break. Knock one off because even if we signed a CM tonight he wouldn't be very likely to play on Saturday.

I also can't believe that we haven't received any bids for Kilman. There's a dearth of good ball playing centre halves available - Fofana fetching £70m only half a dozen games back after a year out.

He's one of the best in the league and I'm surprised too.

I'd have thought Chelsea would've been in for him.
