Summer 2022 Transfer Window

People's expectation levels are far too high is what comes across all the time . We are no more entitled to sign a whole host of quality players than any other club at our level .

Expectation levels should be high.

We've been playing in the richest league in the world for a few years now (ask the season ticket holders on here how much that costs), those in charge need scrutiny and accountability, not a pat on the head because 'it's tough'.

Of course it's tough, it's elite sport and the results of our poor transfer business in recent years could be seen on our subs bench last weekend.

They will this weekend too if the rumours of Hwang being out are true.

No Moutinho, Hwang or Jiminez.

Quite why we haven't got anybody in on loan is just bizarre.

I'd answer that by saying that , yes mistakes are made..........but lots of clubs make mistakes in chasing unrealistic targets .

We are far from along in being frustrated with the pace of new additions .

If we end up signing 4 new players - all first team ready - before the end of the deadline.....then yes , it would have been nice to achieve that by June 15th - but is that really realistic ? As long as we get the number we feel we need by the end of the deadline , then we should be pleased .
In my short time here, even I have come to understand that there is little point in offering any balanced realistic view on any of the Club's operations. Forming an opinion based on information from a source acknowledged to be dubious and then becoming irate with the Club because the suspect prediction didn't come to pass is far more acceptable. I have come to the conclusion that some people are only happy not only when they are unhappy, but also when they have whipped others into a frenzy too.

Oh Vinny, on the same day you did a decent ticket offer too.

And to think, we're the more reasonable of the two big WWFC forums!

God loves a trier, even you Vinny/ Jeff.

Interesting to know the club have sock puppet social media accounts now.

But by most accounts we had him but didn't want to wait. That's a mistake on our part.

I don't think we'll get Ramos, I think we're a stalking horse.

I'm not sure that was every properly corroborated by a decent source although could be true. I can see why they didn't want to risk waiting, he may well have been worth waiting for but when you are pretty desperate for players in that position signing one but him potentially not being available until Jan isn't ideal.

It's gone quiet on Ajorque again. He seems like the best fit at a reasonable price.

But with the selling club wanting more money and other teams involved you get that inevitable sense that we'll likely miss out on another player.

If Wolves don't think he's worth £18m (or whatever) though...

IF you take Liam Keen as trustworthy we haven't actually bid for any of the forwards like him and Hwang2 we've been linked with in the last couple of weeks, just made enquiries. That suggests to me we are either waiting to sell someone first or more likely the top priority is someone else and they are doing the groundwork to see what it would take to get them if they can't get that through

Are you realistically going to get someone with his scoring record and potential for any less than £20m these days?

I get he might be playing second fiddle to Jimenez when he's back, but you need someone who is actually decent when we do use him.

Plus what Jeff Shi thinks players are worth has been notoriously unreliable at getting us players in the last few years, unless they are nailed on starters.

Every fucking window there's some shmuck who babbles on about how hard it can be to buy players, as if it's a struggle isolated to just the current window. Our recruitment quality *and* quantity has been shit for 6 successive windows. That's not down to market complexities, it's down to a downscaling of ambition and investment, and the fact that we've made The Athletic's downgrade from Spiers to Madelely look like the swap of the centrury when you compare us going from Thelwell to Sellars

Prior to this season I was that shmuck!

Rude. 😘

Don't know about potential, he's 28.

If the club have a valuation and the asking price is nearly double that then we'd be silly to go ahead with it. I know nothing about him, I've never seen him play, nor I suspect has anyone on here.

Potential to do well in this league, just for clarification.

Plus Forest have accepted that MGW is not for sale but may revisit in January.

Plus Wolves have cooled their interest in Batshuayi who according to reports in Turkey is in advanced talks with Fenerbahce
