Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Is Ben Yedder a realistic option though?

Why not? We are a team in the richest and most prestigious domestic league in the world. There are teams in this league more attractive to us either by name or due to European competition but not everyone can play for those teams.

Ultimately, if we are prepared to pay out the money then we are as realistic an option as the majority of teams in this division.

I have no idea if he is an actual option but he looks like a player who would make us better so if he is available, we should be interested.

He could play there, he'd be better there than Brereton is imo, even if it isn't his best position.
He'd work with Raul in a pair was BY could easily play the Jota role.

That would leave us with a problem in midfield as you couldn't play 4 players as physically small and lightweight as Neto, Podence, Moutinho and Neves.

That would definitely be a concern, less so if we played 352 but then we'd likely be leaving out one of our best players.

Could it work as a 4231 type formation with the two midfielders primarily shielding the defence? it wouldn't be too dissimilar to the way we ask them to defend now but we'd naturally have more men ahead of the ball when we had it.

Yeah I don't see neves as lightweight at all. Not a hardman or anything, but he's robust and clever, uses a fair bit of guile to win the ball. Also wins a surprising amount of midfield headers.

Ramos just scored a decent goal against Fulham. Near post header from a corner.

Fully expect pelters for this, but when exactly did we sell Dadashov and Shabani to Grasshoppers on perm deals? Both completely passed me by.

I thought that Shabani was very highly regarded when he signed, so it's a bit disappointing to see it end like this.

Start of this month.

Shabani's injuries have completely done over his development. To be honest, for as long as they're at Grasshoppers they're perpetually within our reach at whatever value we decide, if they do end up coming good.

Well my optimism that Collins was the first of the minimum of three we need is beginning to fade. Maybe our targets are beginning to realise a better offer won’t be forthcoming and be more willing to join us, but on the other hand I thought that last summer.

I'm guessing Collins is the freebie so to speak. Anyone else apart from loans need to be funded from within the squad

Bound to be more business done, when is the question. Suspect they're working on more than one deal. Lots of suggestions Osorio is close , though he's possibly not 1st team ready which is what people are keen to see.
There doesn't feel like there is a mass movement to be honest.

They can't be that stupid. There's got to be another four bodies in, even if two of them are South American punts
Have you been abducted by aliens over the weekend? See Traore to Barcelona for exactly how stupid they really, really are.

I do think we'll get a couple more in, I just don't see much additional up front spend without a sale

We’re due at least one speculative young Portuguese loan.
