Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Ronan is not going to play any meaningful games for Wolves this season. He should be moved on permanently really, he is at an age where he needs a permanent home where he is going to play every week, he's not a youngster any more and there is nothing to indicate he is anywhere near a viable option for where we are.
Is he not coming off the back of an excellent season in Scotland by all accounts?

And yes, I realise that the Scottish Premier League is barely Championship standard. However, he can only play the teams that were put in front of him and if he was one of the stand-out performers, surely it's worth taking a look in pre-season to see if he can contribute.

Nobody's whining when Cutrone plays and he's arguably less likely to become a first team fixture than Connor.

He's had loans in Scotland and League One, with varying levels of success - nowhere near the level we are at. We all want a CM signing that offers something different, then we have all of Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker he will be behind and I also very highly doubt he will be jumping ahead of Cundle. So would you keep a 24 year old around to play 6th choice CM? Seems pointless.

I won't have a bad word said about Cutrone...........

Been told I should post this here instead but I like the idea of us getting Dzeko would be decent signing and already played in the Prem

To be fair mate you've been young for the last 12 years (unless you are Dorian Gray ?)
How about changing it to 'Young compared to..... Wolf' ?
Only reason I haven't requested a change is because I'm still young compared to most of you.. ;)

But maybe the time has come!

Dzeko won't score regularly anywhere outside of Serie A or MLS now. We also wouldn't pay those wages.

The "players speak highly of Ronan" thing needs plenty of salt. It'll just be generic comments like "he's a great lad, good footballer, loans have done him good, good to have him around" etc as they can hardly say "tbh Liam he wouldn't be here if we had a decent recruitment team, he needs to be sold to a bottom end Championship team"

Ronan impressing the first team players should read...

[Conor Coady] Look, he's a fantastic footballer, he really really is[/Conor Coady]

On the Ronan one - probably a bit like Fabio , until we get another midfielder over the line and signed , we'll be hanging onto him . Ronan's not bad on a set piece mind you . Our record on those is not hectic .

Can’t pick players on the strength they can take a free kick though…….

Otherwise we might as well bring back Lee Naylor.

Might be wrong, but i can only remember Naylor scoring 2 free kicks? One against Reading, the other against Stoke away?

DW?

On Ronan; I've got absolutely no issue with him being around and part of the first team squad. He'd probably make the bench as an option alongside Cundle and possibly Donk. Might feature in some cup games etc, but realistically he wouldn't be used in PL games. Whether he's happy with that kind of role or not is another thing - but he scored some absolute screamers last season (goals that top keepers would struggle to keep out), so if he adds strength & numbers to the squad, I'm all for that. We're hardly inundated with massive options in that position.

All that said, we should be looking to move for a first team central midfielder (although I reckon we'll just bring a forward in and that'll be us done as far as the first team goes) and then we could let Ronan go and get a bit of money for him.

With the sub situation next season, if we're not signing any more midfielders, i'd keep him.
