This stemmed from a discussion elsewhere with friends, but I tallied up the Premier league points over the last 5 years and felt I would share some here - on the off chance anyone else cares. Things of note, of the 30 teams to have been in the Prem during the last 5 years, Wolves are 16th in total points, despite now only being partway through our 3rd season, already ahead of Brighton now on their 4th, and with a good chance of catching or overtaking both Watford and Bournemouth - again both who have 4 seasons.

Of the sides then above us within 100 points, all bar Newcastle are in their 5th season. Then the second table is all the best total points by team during the same span, of which Wolves 59 puts us 9th. Leeds and Villa will continue to add to their totals obviously, but it's still a fairly impressive achievement. The reason I started this was friends who support other teams, suggesting that they were more impressed to see Wolves progress than potentially most Wolves fans are, based on the fact we do a lot of moaning! and don't seem to appreciate we have come into the Prem and immediately jumped over a lot of the established non elite, whilst beating the top 6 at a rate than none of them had ever matched.

Because it was part of a wider conversation about how Wolves look an established side despite not being so, and have put together the sort of seasons others in the prem never have. So wanted to include at least some pre Wolves seasons, but not too far.

They are calling me out on the Leeds points. They're on 32 points and haven't featured in the PL for the seasons prior to this so they're asking where the 43 has come from?

Just seen a stat on BT in the build up to the City game regarding chances created from open play per 90 minutes which i thought was interesting.

Adama's metrics really aren't so different to last season, I was looking at it the other day. It's just some of those shots came off and some more of those crosses were headed in by Raul.

He is what he is, I personally like having someone with his dribbling ability, genuinely phenomenal, and with more options around him (ie. in a 4231, or inverted in the 343,)shock horror he looks less predictable and better all round.

Yeah that's pretty much how i see it. I do think the fact that he seems to be able to play on the left coming inside will definitely help goals wise and us now seeming to want to get more bodies in the final third can only help him get more assists. We just need to be more clinical when we create those chances but i think that's been the case forever.

i think he's also been told by Nuno to get into the box more. He's involved for corners, and has started the past 3-4 games laying off a short pass and moving into the box to support Jose.

What impressed me about Adama in the Leeds game was his work ethic, he was getting involved and moving (whether the higher press was forcing him to be involved more I don't know, but it's worked) whereas when he was on the right we were treated to a five minute Adama cameo per game now on the left he is chasing ,harrying and just getting involved, it can only improve now we have eleven players on the pitch

Interesting article on The Athletic this morning. I’ve read “we have suffered without fans more than most”, but it turns out that’s not true. We’re actually 5th in the table in pre/post lockdown home form!

It’s all pretty irrelevant. West Ham were dreadful, now aren’t dreadful. Don’t think that’s anything to do with fans.

Same as Liverpool, they were insane (and lucky, it was unsustainable). They’ve now had an injury crisis and their luck has dropped off.

Fans will have a little difference but nothing like that table tries to suggest for teams like Liverpool and West Ham.

Of course there was going to be some degree of movement with certain clubs, or the table would finish the same every year.

Yeah I think the discussion of fans not at the stadium is relevant..liverpool wouldn´t have lost all these home games for example with the support from fans and the Kop..we would certainly gain too..interesting stats..
