We've given up on the transition then!

I just don't see the point tbh. We're not going down, just give some of the kids some time in their actual fucking positions and use the rest of the season to try and drill the new system and style into the players that have a future in our first eleven.

We're learning nothing with that eleven, win, lose or draw.

The team is fine, glad Saiss is in for Kilman. Tbh I just want to see us have an actual plan especially as we’ve just played them so know exactly what they’re going to do. If we’re as rubbish again then you really have to question what Nuno is doing with regards to tactics and player instructions.

I'd give you a Valentine's card if I could.

Team selection was pretty predictable i think. I would rather we played 4 at the back and gave game time to players who we need to find out if they are good enough like MGW but as i said earlier in the thread i'll take 5 atb if we show some cohesive attacking play. Don't think i'm asking for much but i'm not expecting it which is quite sad.

Valentine’s Day and I can feel the love on the forum... state of a few threads over the last 24 hours. I think a few of you need to lay off the lockdown beers! 😂

Anyway, expected starting 11 (and probably the expected result in a couple of hours - ‘L’), but let’s see what they serve up today.

I agree with Wop that we should really be giving a few of the other options a run out to see what they can offer, but perhaps Nuno madly thinks we’ve still got an outside chance of finishing 7th again...

The only thing wrong this season has been the transition.
We did not have the close season to work on it etc.
I woukd rather have changed nothing this season, and worked once we are back to normal

We can still “transition” within a 3-4-3. With 2 CMs playing in a back 3 there certainly isn’t a better set of players to have them stepping into midfield.

Guarantee they will be stood in a line though and Neves will be dropping in to make it a 4 and Moutinho on his own in no mans land.

Donck and Saiss both do that more than Boly and Kilman tbf.

Swedish commentators before the game "Wolves need to take the next step, show that they can command a game and not just lay deep, defend and counter and just rely on certain individual players".."I think Southampton are favourites but always nice to see wolves and everything can happen".....very true that

Need the gap between Neves & Moutinho and front three to be smaller and link between defence and attack improved

90 secs in and we go from an attacking position on the left wing to Moutinho and then the first thought is back to the CHs and then within moments we lose it and a half-chance for Southampton... we never learn

how often do you see them near the edge of the area when we’re in possession like Leicester did against us in the away game. Drawing a player out, creating an angle, creating space etc.

our players seem to have a fighting mindset today at least

nice to see Neto take the freekick also

Do we not watch other teams? Southampton always defend free kicks with that high line, shift the ball before you whip it in or we're going to be offside every time like we were on Thursday.

5 minutes in and already enjoying Ally McCoist on co-comm more than anyone else we’ve had cover our games this season.

Top bloke.

why are we always 2-3 meters off the guy with the ball just waiting
