Cyber - I really don't know what you're point is now. You're flip flopping from Fabio Silva to Nick Pope (as if Pope has anything to do with this game!)

Can we all get back to discussing this game please. Thanks

Who was the best, David Seaman or Nigel Martyn?

It's David Seaman obviously but for the sake of conversation.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

Willian José has been shite so far, he never moves, he never attacks crosses and hardly ever looks like scoring. Occasionally controlling the ball and laying it off is a very low bar. I can do that if you never ask me to move, and I'm thirty ni....in my 30s.

I haven't said "send him back to San Sebastian immediately", I have said pick him tomorrow, I would for the next 2-3 too and THEN if he's no good then get rid as there's no value in it.

I can pretend he's been really good if you like but I don't know what anyone gets out of that.
I don't think that's a fair assessment of WJ. His run to win the pen against Arsenal was a good one and he made two good runs to take defenders away against Soton and Leicester for a certain corn-rowed winger to strike the ball at goal.

He just isn't getting found at the moment and his work off the ball is good.

I don't think he's had a clear cut chance yet has he?

To take this thread even further off topic I remember being amazed how big Seaman was at the semi-final - superb keeper, shit hair.

Having shit hair is a touchy subject at the minute, I look like a 1970s birthing video !

Ronaldinho!

don’t patent safe hands as a trademark and let that in

Nigel Martyn gave the best goalkeeping performance I've ever seen live. Easter Monday 1989

I get that, my hair grows out not down. It’s not a good look.

Look, I don’t want a bun fight but I can and will defend my views. Seaman was great. Martyn underrated. Peter S was better than both.

I'm quite interested to know exactly how many chances Silva has had.......no I really am. I read a stat, I think end of last season which showed Raul had the worst conversion rate of chances to goals of any of the top strikers in the league.......and thats not a criticism of Raul, love the guy, can't wait till he's back and fit.

I agree with Punts mantra that it's 'how we play' that's important, but I don't think that's divorced from the importance of our set up.

When we play 3 at the back this season we always end up going back to default with one spare, useless CH like Kilman having loads of the ball, the front three all isolated and midfield two too far back.

4 at the back for me for the rest of the season, don't care if it's Coady and Saiss
Late replying to this but actually i agree i just meant no matter what formation we play i just hope and pray we look like we have an idea when we have the ball and i can cope with whatever formation we play then. I said last week i want 4 atb as it makes us play more attacking football but i don't think Nuno will do it without Boly.
