Huge result for the Warriors. Penrith all over Brisbane early doors but only 4 up. Should be at least two tries up really.

Penrith really doing a number on the Broncos. Brisbane extremely fortunate to have zero.

Just watched the highlights. Some poor tries conceded by the Broncos.

Ha, or me when I’m talking generally to people while on holiday.

Manly v Canberra has been great so far.

Some altercation on the concourse with Panthers fans.

I guess the Courier-Mail and similar might well keep something like that a bit quiet. I will check the local news in a few minutes and see if it gets a mention.

Chapeau Alex Johnston, for breaking the all-time NRL try record with his 213th score for the Bunnies.

Good game against the Chooks so far as well.

Great win for Trinity last night in the Challenge Cup. Even better start for the Tigers in their opening fixture of this seasons NRL against the Cowboys 🐅🐅🐅🐅

💰 NRL EYES £250M Deal to Run Super League

The NRL are reportedly exploring a takeover of the Super League with a £250 million investment over a period of five years

The proposal that is being discussed would include:

🏉 The NRL investing heavily into Super League operations
🏉 Potentially buying a 33% stake in the competition
🏉 The NRL having full control of the administration and running of the league
🏉 A long term plan to restructure the league with the option of reducing the competition to 10 teams
🏉 Improved marketing and TV deals

The idea is part of a plan to grow rugby league globally all while helping to stabilise the UK game. NRL bosses believe they could improve how the sport is marketed, increase broadcasting values and bring NRL games or possibly State of Origin events to the UK

⚠️ The Catch
The NRL wants full control of how the league is run. Clubs may need to give up some decision-making power. A new governance structure led by the NRL would likely be needed

If this goes ahead, it could transform Super League into a globally-focused competition under NRL management.
