That said, he has galvanised a squad that was pretty broken tbh. There is at least fight & pride.
We're harder to score against in the main.
Significantly for me, the past 2 or 3 home games we have been a much better team in the 2nd half. I'll accept the 1st half performances have been poor, but he has made positive changes.

I lean more towards get rid at the end of the season, but he should be doing everything to prove he's worth giving a chance.

The appointment of Rui Pedro Silva, a key figure under Nuno Espírito Santo, to Edwards’s staff has also had a positive effect in strengthening relationships within the squad.

GON was actually talked about for the England and Man Utd jobs, get your head around that….

I agree with you Nic, but there was a period where we looked good under GON which did too much heavy lifting.

Also the VAR narrative (which was accurate, we had unbelievable decisions go against him) helped him too.

His agent fed a few lines to friendly sources and Shi bought it hook, line and sinker and gave him that new contract. That’s what it was all about really. If you looked at the betting for the jobs then you'd have seen that he didn’t have a cat in hells chance of getting either.
 
Based just on results he seems to be doing pretty well at Strasbourg. Kept the prolific Munetsi quiet yesterday.

The Utd one was such a weak link as well.
All around Dan Ashworth visiting Compton or something.

Liverpool was because someone involved in the process of replacing Klopp had employed GoN at Bournemouth.

GoN was royally screwed by Wolves but he lost the plot and had zero professional pride when he accepted to be the caretaker manager whilst we searched for someone to replace him.
In that period he lost all grip on the discipline at the club.
 
3 wins and 4 draws in the last 7 in all competitions, so I guess it depends how you want to spin it

According to the comms no so much a month as non international players had a hard earned and well deserved holiday.

But at least we beat Villa when they got back.
 
Said it earlier it’s dopey scheduling by the PL, FA and FL that we’ve gone a month without a game and it’ll be almost 7 weeks between home matches.
Bare minimum requirement for RE should be to break 20 points.
His record still sits at W3 D6 L12 in his league games you can chuck in his 2 wins v poor league 2 sides if you want. His PPG ratio would be 27 over a 38 game season and comfortably relegated.
Sadly we’ve got plenty of fans who will think coming 8th next season and losing in the first round of the play offs will be a good effort.
They’ll cite what happened in 2013, RE will start in August and be gone by November when we’re 14th and going nowhere.
Having the “he’ll do” or “ it could be worst” view of things buys you mediocrity.
 
I’m no Edwards apologist but do we actually think this squad is capable of more than 27 points? It was dreadful anyway and then was weakened in January.

The CBs and GK a probably 6/10, the Brazilians 7/10 and I’ll let Hugo Bueno off with a 5/10, but then the rest are awful and it’s all in the attacking third.

I think Summerville is bang average but he’d be our best player by a margin and you could say the same about Traore! Add the obvious in Bowen and Fernandes and they have way better players than us, yet still have a strong possibility of being relegated.

6 months ago we didn’t think we were beating Derby’s record. So I’m not actually sure what we’re expecting from a squad that was weakened
