Relive a classic: Wolves 6-4 Rotherham

It's no comparison to say "it was better than Saunders". A cat could manage better than Saunders.

I did not enjoy us winning 2-0 and declaring against the likes of Port Vale, no. I don't live for "Wolves won", I live for wanting the best Wolves team I can see. This is why we've got Neves, Moutinho, Raul etc now. You don't get that in League One.

This is going towards the line we had a few years back when someone (Penk maybe) said his dream season was finishing 3rd-6th in the Championship and losing in the playoffs every year.

Well tbf getting out of the division is a lot of the joy of being successful at that level. Kiss the minnows goodbye and reaffirm we belong with the "big boys", as it were.

Through gold tinted specs, it felt like justice.

Well done us for winning against such mighty opponents.

You know why Italy used to call pointless wars against the likes of Ethiopia, don't you :D

That was the best Wolves team collectively in a few years, dont give me the Doyles, the Fletchers because the end of that reign in the Prem most were non triers. You never ever knew what would happen in the future at that time. I enjoyed the emergence of Danny Batth, the likes of K-Mac in midfield, Jacobs, Sako and Henry were brilliant that season and we had Dicko who was great for a couple of years. It was a bloody fun season, forget about how wank you think the opponents were, it was a stress free season that most of the fans needed.

You will and I guarantee be in the 5 percent that hated it..

I'm not knocking anyone who enjoyed it, there are people who enjoy Star Wars and Disney films, each to their own.

I didn't enjoy it, but as I'm a fool, I still went to every game. Which means I lose, I suppose :D

There we go again using funny terminology for your answers. Love you man and I do dearly but you have to be different to everybody else. This is another example.

I can only tell you how I feel! Or felt, in that case. I remember railing at the time against people on here who were going to be "celebrating wildly" after the Carlisle home game. What, really?

The masses keep buying records off some dimwit who sings about sausage rolls every Christmas. You're always better off going your own way.

For the record there is no way Ricketts should have been dropped for Doherty the following season and Jacobs was treated really poorly.

Jacobs and Jed Wallace I think had their big chance's snuffed out a bit by KJ's weird use of them tactically (or disuse altogether).

Ken seemed to lose track of what a number 10 actually does after his first year. First Edwards basically playing as a shit striker, then various target men plonked there, then back to Edwards, then Mason who he didn't even want. Don't think Jacobs or Wallace even played there once for us in the Championship.

My man Yannick Sagbo wasted as an attacking midfielder

Jacobs to date had his best one season for us that season. Never understood, he had talent but ultimately failed at a higher level.

Man, he was rubbish. Made his debut against Huddersfield, Coady scored a screamer.

Yanno looked like he'd never seen a football before. Beyond dreadful.

Bonus footage there of Mullet Stearman getting bossed by Grant fucking Holt.

I see it for what it was. After two momentously bad seasons had left us in league one with a shed load of big time Charlies like Johnson and O Hara munching their wages, I was delighted to have a season where we looked like a decent team, with some decent players and we won plenty of games. Sunderland fans would rip your arm off for the season we had in league one.

That said , after fosun came in and found their feet ( and it took a few months ) once they appointed Nuno and Nuno started to work on his ideas backed by Mendes, that championship season was as enjoyable a romp as any. Lots to love and remember that season except for Sunderland on the last day ( Where are they now? Still in league one Jeff).
So they (Fosun) set the bar quite high and naturally I and many others adjusted our expectations accordingly. The fare Nuno served up last season and in fact post lockdown was (I think most agree) at best a dull watch , at worst bloody awful.
So this season , with all the FPP bollocks coming from Shi , the lack of activity in the last 3 windows of note , the net 0 spend etc , my expectations are starting to shift again.
We are currently overperforming with regard to the number of points we have. 2 points per goal half way through a season is bonkers.
As a fan I would love to see Lage backed by the board . Now that doesnt mean 60m on Botman, thats absurd ,but a couple or three 10-15m additions in positions he has identified would give us more options. I also trust him to bring players on. His track record (albeit short) shows that to be a strength so I would not mind some 22-25 year old looking for the next step up on loan with an option , again in key positions.
I see us for what we are. Set up as difficult to beat, Well drilled and coached with a game plan not to lose. Similar to Nuno but 10-20 yards higher up the pitch backed by a keeper with sweeper keeper tendencies, missfiring with finishing but creating more opportunities, even if that does not always mean clear cut. At the half way stage its 7.5/10 for Bruno Lage 8/10 for team results and 5/10 for Fosun and the Board
