Relegation Thread 2023/24

I'm OK with PSR as a mechanism to ensure that clubs can't spend money that they don't have, and I like the fact it's relatively quick and clubs have time/opportunity for a fire sale to keep in check and out of the red. I'd actually go a little further and say no financial exceptions and just go straight forward off the full P&L. But owners should be allowed to put in as much money as they want; not as a loan, as a straight forward cash injection.

Wolves "fans" on social media saying we should have bought a striker as we'd only have lost 4-6 points is nuts.

Anyone else seen similar yet?

I don't know why the stupidity of people on social media still surprises me. We are a nation that voted for Brexit and elected Boris Johnson as Prime Minister FFS.

I did wonder what would happen if the likes of Newcastle just said ‘fuck it’ and spent billions assuming they’d get the 9 points back due to the fact they’d have better players.

It wouldn't be a one off though, it'd be for a number of years, 3 in the current model and probably longer in the new one given the wages those players would be on.

Aye, but it’s 3 extra wins a season when you’ve got Mbappe in your team which feels doable….

To break even, it's not going to win them a league though and they'd be banned from Europe in all likelihood given that UEFA FFP is stricter than the PL one

Yeah alright fair enough, still be funny to watch someone try…
I think it's the other end of the league where the deterrent isn't big enough. Take us last season, we were fine, but hypothetically if that January spend had taken us over it would have been worth the risk to stay up and we'll finish this one more than 6 points above 17th. If you are having it then It should be 9, the same as administration imo. You wouldn't do it in the Summer window, but in January the gamble might be worthwhile

reports circulating that newcastle are considering selling guimares. Given how pivotal he is for the team, you have to ask why they'd sell?

££££££

They need to finance new signings and he’d bring g in big money. Then it’s a question of can they spend it well.

£100m release fee for Bruno.

Obvious one to sell if they are having to do what the rest of the pleb teams need to do.

Forest tried to say we sold Neves outside of our accounting period and didn't get a charge because of it, without actually providing any evidence.
Avoid the comments it's another Jeff wankfest

Eh? We sold Neves about two days after the end of the season. Way before the deadline.
