REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

"There is £26bn of headroom, the money is there, but we also think there is room to make some sensible tax cuts as well" Boris Johnson says the UK has enough money in reserve to prepare for a no-deal #Brexit, increase education spending and cut taxes

The “fiscal firepower” we have built up in case of a No-Deal Brexit will only be available for extra spending if we leave with an orderly transition. If not, it will all be needed to plug the hole a No Deal Brexit will make in the public finances.

I presume it will be the Boris side of the argument believed and then the Hammond side realised after Johnson has won

I dunno, but I always want them to be told by Spain that they have to go back to the UK after brexit, that would amuse me no end

From someone who lives in Greece and was not allowed a postal vote in the referendum, and to quote paddy...."fuck off"

Not having a go at you, from what I can gather, you live in a small village, and live among the locals and embrace their way of life,I was having a pop at the Brits who have lived in Spain for twenty years, can't and won't speak Spanish, live among other Brits nip down the English pub Sunday dinner time for a carling and a roast beef dinner, and moan about spaniards speaking Spanish in Spain when they should(in a cockney voice) speak facckin English when talkin to us.
Hope that's cleared it up(unless you're a cockney,and I've made it way worse)

Ha ha great reply, made me smile a lot. I lived in Tenerife for almost four years and know exactly which Brits you mean, nothing short of a lobotomy can fix those fuckers, but I am pissed that Brits living abroad were never entitled to vote in the referendum, must be something illegal in that in my book. As for a cockney,no, lived in London for a few years but born in Dublin, grew up in brum, from five years old, been a wolves supporter since five years old when my dad and big brother took me to the Albion (sadly both were Baggies fans) and wolves beat them at the hawthorns and I have been a wolf since then. Ha ha when asked here in Greece who do I support here, I said who are those guys playing in black and gold, I was told AEK, been a Greek fan of AEK since then, thirty years almost, but if they play wolves in Europe, fuck em! Ha ha

Why weren't you allowed to vote (if you dont mind me asking)? I was living in Thailand at the time and used a proxy, but postal was an option too. Perhaps I wasn't there long enough.

Don't know his circumstances but am aware that if you have lived abroad for over 15 years can no longer vote so might be that.

There's some speed on that backtrack Keef.

Yea was quite impressed with it myself,I'm not into annoying people for no good reason,I prefer forums to be friendly places

hey he didn't annoy me, just prompted a wee bit of retaliation, and as i said, i loved the response. as for no postal vote, the 15 years thing might be it, but why should i learn that on WTF, yeR Lter, and be told nothing by UK.Gov.com at the time?
the whole referendum was total bollocks with so many lies from Farage and Johnson et al, i cannot believe they are still allowed to walk the streets.

It was the 15 year expiration limit Pav, I'm in the same boat. Disgraceful that those potentially affected most had zero say in the matter. Personally, the 99,9% focus on "trade deals" pisses me off too - what about my works rights, pension rights, rights to access unemployment benefits and social security should it be needed. Will UK citizens be granted the same rights as EU citizens if the UK crashes out with no deal, will we slip back to the same status as a non-EU immigrant? Yes, we can get respective citizenship, but that comes at a price, several hundred Euro and the prospect of giving up my UK citizenship, can I sent that the brexit cunts the invoice?

The Brexit Party have been awesome

1) Had some odd gathering at the NEC where Farage came out to the sound of air sirens and the lights off. Clearly we are at war with Europe
2) The female Rees-Mogg moaned about the waste of money when she was given an iPad due to her being an MEP. Completley missing the point that it wasn't a prize for getting elected but a tool to use for work, especially when travelling
3) On travelling, 1 Brexit MEP seemed surprised that travelling from Ipswich to Strasbourg was a long journey! Complained about having to change trains 4 times (3 times before London btw). How dare the European Parliament have its HQ somewhere in Europe (also didn't know that they have had votes previously to move around where their base is to save on travelling from time to time for some MEP's...a certain Mr N Farage voted against it. Can't think why he would vote against something that would lower his expenses)

This guy is spectacular.

1) He used to host crap like Most Haunted on whichever D grade Channel that's on, just what you want from a politician

2) He seems to live in the East of England but represents North West England? Go on then mate, get a train from Ipswich to Manchester to see your constituents. See how easy that is. Or did you not know where Manchester was either?

3) He calls himself a doctor, but is not allowed to practice medicine as he didn't complete his studies. Unless he's like a Suffolk Dr Dre, why would you do that...

The Brexit Party really are a bunch of freeloading, bandwagon jumping, charlatan cunts. Sadly, when the inevitable General Election comes around in the near future, they are going to win a load of seats.

I don't know.

1) A GE isn't a binary matter. We saw that in 2017

2) They simply do not have the resources or (legal) funding to put up 650 credible candidates, no matter what Kermit says

3) Their vote share in the EU elections this year wasn't that much greater than what UKIP managed in 2014. How did they do in the 2015 GE?

4) Their vote will get split with the Tories in loads of places

5) They need actual policies, plural to succeed in a GE. They currently have one that has been discredited over and over again

6) Peterborough was a massive litmus test for them. Lost. If you can't win there, where are you going to win?

The same idiot (Bull) is then surprised that a room big enough to fit 700 people in is so large.

I suspect you're right. Our ridiculously outdated FPTP voting system wont help them either.

I guess these days I have absolutely no faith in the voting public not to be massive stupid cunts.

The anthem they turned their backs on was played live by a bunch of musicians. So not just pathetic and churlish, lacking in class and dignity as well
