I find it perverse that Dave Edwards has gone from completing 30 passes in 180 minutes against Blues and Wigan to being awarded the captaincy today.

I fully support gutting the back four, i also support Dicko starting and Weimann been dropped. I dont agree with putting another shit midfielder at full back though.

He's got things right and wrong today. The result dictates how much.

Nothing to be frightened of there, it just shows consistent team selection and a defined pattern of play can gain its rewards in the Championship.

You see, if we actually attack coherently then that seriously is a defence you could have a right go at. I don't rate any of them (or the keeper) in the slightest. We need to play some football first mind.

Problem is not enough (or possibly any) skill & flair in midfield to get the attack going

No worse than putting a shit right back at left back, which we've done now for well over a year. If Saville knows more or less where to stand and can be bothered chasing back towards our own goal then he'll be a better option. The entire situation is farcical in that position and clearly needs sorting out ASAP but we could scarcely do any worse than someone with Doherty's ability and attitude, I wouldn't give him a game in a pub team.

3 of those back 4 were magnificent against Stoke so I hope we go there today.

We could of course be doing a Chelsea and going 3-4-3 with Coady and Saville in the wide slots. You never know.

Burgoyne is no better than Ikeme/Lonergan, he's just younger so may improve...

As for the midfield - it's not one I would pick, or one that looks good on paper. Fortunately we've made much needed changes in defence and hopefully we can get something from this game. If we don't get something then this team looks a bit tombolaesque (if we win I guess it would be fair to say tactical genius though...!)

That is the actual worry isn't it - I'd bet saiss won't last the 90 minutes.

Oh i agree, im not advocating that gormless prick shouldve stayed in at all but Id have played CBJ or if he's hated *that* much, Hause on the left.
