QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

We actually went to a car boot sale on Sunday and it was as dismal as everyone is saying. Just sad people, too mean to take their crap to a charity shop, try to flog junk for 20p to equally sad people who are only prepared to pay 10p for it. So depressing.

Years ago, before ebay, Music Magpie etc it was OK - you could find some good stuff, and also make money if you were selling. You could always find some decent music books or DVDs. Now everything of any worth gets sold online and car boots are just full of the stuff that always got dumped at the end previously. Either that or loads of stolen gear.

My ex took some of our old things to one once and explain the phenomenon of 'professional car booters'. There are people who turn up as soon as the thing opens - so that's around 6am on a weekend - and peruse EVERYTHING like a forensic scientist, haggling over 10p here and there. They'll leave before the sun comes up and the slightly more normal people arrive.

There really are some horrendously sad people out there.

Did a couple when we moved house to get rid of some clutter.

Hated it when we arrived and about 15 people swarmed at us to ask if we had any Gold/Video games/Watches/Phones. They bugger off and you get the group who want to go through your stuff before its out of the car then the hagglers and my favourite one "How much is this"...."30p"...."I'll give you 20p"..."yeah fine".....money handed over and.."errrrr what it is?"

The hardcore buyers are a fucking nightmare. They surround your car when you turn up and start taking stuff out of your boot before you've even had a chance to turn the engine off. The last one we did, (years ago), I had to get really arsey with them and put a £50 price tag on absolutely everything to make them go away. It was a bit like that Big Train sketch where the jockeys won't leave the firemen alone. Except they were more aggressive. And smelly. And ugly.

I was literally about to make the same comparison! :icon_lol:

Slightly OT but a lot of my friends reckon the best and easiest way to get rid of stuff nowadays is via a local 'buy and sell' page on Facebook. Works a treat apparently.

Interesting. My other half is always trying to flog off our old tat. I'll look into that.

Whenever I come back to UK, there is always a Sunday morning that I get asked if I fancy going to a car boot or a market. I cant think of anything worse tbh.

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ?

Do you play the Lottery every week ?

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ?

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ?

Do you like coconut ?

Is PPB a nosey cow ?

Worth a look - I just did a search for 'buy and sell Stourbridge' and a group came up. You can see from new posts how often it's used - I'll probably need to buy a few new things once my remortgage is sorted, such as a new sofa so I may well just see what's on offer there.

I will also be selling my Xbox 360 + games to finance my Xbox One and I don't see why I can't get more for it on there as opposed to trading it in on the high street.

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ?

No thanks, I'm sweet enough.

Do you play the Lottery every week ?

Nope. Used to play occasionally but not bothered since it went up to £2 - I only ever used to do it on impulse if I were buying something and it happened to be draw night. With the price doubling that impulse has gone.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ?

Shower

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ?

Depends which day you catch me on! I'm alright though. Mostly.

Do you like coconut ?

No.

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ?

No - I think sugar in tea/coffee is as wrong as people putting ice in cider. It shouldn't be done.

Do you play the Lottery every week ?

Yep. No luck so far.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ?

A shower, as I do every single morning without fail. I hate feeling unclean.

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ?

Most definitely.

Do you like coconut ?

Yep. Love it.

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ? Yes, 2 thanks

Do you play the Lottery every week ? Not every week but snce the Euro Mills is at around £130m I will have a pop at that.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ? Shower

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ? I think so

Do you like coconut ? Yes

Is PPB a nosey cow ?[/QUOTE] Yes but she is also pretty ace, so it evens itself up (Kenny winner of the Forum Kiss Ass award 2014)

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ? - No

Do you play the Lottery every week ? - I have not played it for years.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ? - Shower every morning.

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ? - I am not the best person to judge that, but I hope so.

Do you like coconut ? - Yes

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ?
Yep. 3 in tea and coffee. I have a very sweet tooth. They're disgusting without sugar and last time I tried it without it made my stomach hurt!

Do you play the Lottery every week ?
There's a 60 person syndicate at work for the big Euro Millions ones which I go in. The regular one, no.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ?
None of the above. Up at 5am, dressed, cereal, 10 min snooze on the sofa then out the door. I can't function properly at that time of the morning so I'll have a shower when I get home from work in the afternoon.

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ?
Yes, very much so.

Do you like coconut ?
Yes, very much so.

Is PPB a nosey cow ?
Yes, very much so.

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ?
No not now. I don't put milk in either as it changes the taste. You don't stick lemonade in your beer so why stick something foreign in your tea or coffee.

Do you play the Lottery every week ?
Not every week.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ?
Shower.

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ?
Yes.

Do you like coconut ?
Yes.

Is PPB a nosey cow ?
Yes, very much so.

Yes, very much so, but I prefer Kennys :asskiss: of an answer !

Do you take sugar in your cuppa tea ? Yes. One

Do you play the Lottery every week ? No. Only play on the Euro Millions if it is an obscene amount of money.

This morning, did you take a shower, a bath, or just a quick cat lick and out the door ? Shower, like every morning

Would you say you are an easy person to get on with ? I would hope so. Generally amiable with capacity to be a complete dick, but in a highly amusing way for everyone else in the room seems a winning combo.

Do you like coconut ? Not particularly.

Is PPB a nosey cow ? Probably, but who cares?

My wife sells some of Belle's old clothes on Facebook and buys a few things too. Thankfully it means I have never suffered the hell of a car boot sale.

Surprising to me ,some people do not know their blood type. Do you know yours and those closest to you ? - I am in blood group O.

Do you like and go to car boot sales ? - I have never been to one.

If you were blindfolded, could you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke ? - No, but I would know the difference between Spitfire and Bombardier.....
