No unless you count the sahara desert as a beach

Slept there in the open as well - went on a Saharan trek in 1970 & some moron had overinflated & exploded all of the blow up tents the week before. The 'men' had to take turns to guard the camp overnight as a group of Bedouins had been spotted & the guide was worried that they would come down and pinch everything not nailed down if we didn't.

Being woken up at 3am and given a pickaxe handle & told to watch out at age 20 was an odd experience. I had no idea what was going on.
