In nine PL seasons Stoke never finished below 14th and prior to relegation their last four finishes were 9,9,9,13. History shows that relegation can creep up very quickly if you stand still and at the moment we're a way off that. If MGW goes to Forest he'll play a lot and even if they struggle he'll get the chance to show what he can do in the PL so he might take a long term view that a move is better than playing in a system that doesn't suit his strengths.

Please don't be under any illusions that I think we're hot shit, or that I'm not fully on board with all the concerns, but it doesn't mean I have to fellate every other team that's had a good run, while simultaneously doing down Wolves.

Lots of presumption about how Forest and us will play and line up come the start of the season.

Really? Time and time again he has been given incredibly truncated opportunities at Wolves. If he wants to back himself them the first thing should be actually playing.

If we continue to play 343 I think if everyone is fit Lage will go with a front three of Neto, Jiminez and Podence. Throw in his love of Hwang and if I were MGW I'd be wondering where I fit in. If we wanted to get the best out of him a back four would create options but by all accounts that isn't happening so I completely understand why he could well prefer a move to a club that wants him.

As every day passes, I'm more and more uncertain that Joao will sign a new contract with us, especially if as rumoured Porto & Roma are both after him. I know there's the whole "family settled in the area" stuff, but I've pretty much convinced myself at this point that he's going.

Neves/Donk/Cundle midfield trio this season unless they pull their finger out and actually sign someone. I don't really class MGW as a CM and to be honest, it doesn't sound like he wants to stay anyway.

Yep, it's GFFHs definitive post which stops me being concerned. As he's technically a new signing I assume he'd have to have a medical of some sort which could explain him not being at the training ground?
