Be great if the weather really deteriorated and this one got called. We’ll be a better team by the time of the reschedule, and I’m thinking of Andre perhaps struggling for the full 90 as well as reinforcements, but Forest won’t. The late night drive home looks a bit sketchy. Hate TV being able to move a perfectly acceptable weekend match to the night of the first day of school, and work for many. Say that aware that my concerns are particular to the longer distance match goer so other may not be bothered.

Nowt wrong with the idea, but it does require a very specific profile. Which I guess Doc just about fits, somehow (I mean, fair play to him, honestly).

It seems a really odd system to me. I thought when he was talking about it last week, I was misunderstanding what he meant. He was talking about it again yesterday and it seems he wants 1 traditional CB, flanked by 2 FB/CB hybrids who can step across to make the second CB when required and progress the ball when we're in possession. Unless I'm still misunderstanding.
Obviously he's a respected, experienced coach and I'm er, not.

It sounds like an offshoot of Pep’s tactical formula, so rather modern in that sense.

Essentially trying to replicate the overloads that Pep creates by having a CB step into CM, but theoretically more stable as you still have a pair deep who should be reasonably comfortable at doing CB things, rather than in Pep’s system where often it’s an FB who has to tuck in.

Louie or someone else will give me a slap if I’ve misjudged Pep’s system, but I did live with it for a season when Charlotte was being coached by an old Guardiola assistant, Christian Lattanzio.

I was thinking that last week but now he's on about it again and getting players in who can do it or see if the answers are already in the squad.
