Manchester United (A) 22.09.2018

Rui is unbelievable. Keeping us in this.

Shaw is on a yellow. Cannot wait to see Traore up against him at some point.

Was that Fred shot not on target? Stats have just appeared to show they've had 2 shots with 1 on target which was obviously the goal.

Jota has been poor and Moutinho quiet. Thought Jonny, Doherty and Costa have been the stand-outs for us.

Very unlucky to be behind, I think we've been excellent and its a joy to see a Wolves side taking the game to Manchester United away from home. We're certainly still in it while it stays only 1-0, got to avoid giving away any more silly fouls around our area though.

It was def on target, Rui tipped it onto the bar

Game is a pretty good example of where we are vs where we want to be. They've basically created very little and scored from their best attempt (looked to me like Rui took a very small sidestep left prior to it being hit, meant he couldn't quite get to it going back to his right). We've had more attempts, arguably better chances, but haven't put them away. We should probably have had more chances as well but final ball has been missed a few times, been a bit sloppy in the final third.

We are definitely in this, without a doubt.

I think we've been excellent. But Rui gets the plaudits so far for another Worldie. Pray for a draw but whatever happens we have shown we can give the best teams a game.

It's been a decent performance from what I've managed to see. Such a shame we didn't capitalise on one of those early chances. Only real disappointment is Jota who just hasn't been able to make the step up to this level yet. We can still get back in this, and we have been very positive.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, honestly.

"Turnover" and "dispossess" ostensibly mean the same thing.

It's never used here. You turn sausages over when you're cooking them, you either get dispossessed or concede possession, we just wouldn't say turnover possession. Hence me saying it's an Americanism. That's all.

And dispossessed is a Britishism. Neither is more right than the other.

Jota was quality last week but other than that he hasn't hit last season's heights yet. I'm certainly not going to write him off just yet, he's class but just needs to start showing it again.

Marketing, I guess. The word "dispossessed" gets what I imagine are similar eyebrow raises over here.

I think this is why Americans struggle with football. There isn't just possession because possession is so fluid. There are 5 phases (when I coached) possession, attacking transition, no team possession, defensive transition and defence.

You can also win the ball, be in a challenge where nobody has possession, intercept the ball but still not have the ball and head the ball where nobody has had possession.

In short, football is very fluid so labels do not work in the same way as other sports.

Without being too technical, does turnover not mean to rotate, as a verb? The noun is obviously quite different. To dispossess means to take something from somebody, ergo, you don;t really rotate play, in football. I could be wrong, though.

Listening in wolves radio coverage, we are still in this by a long way, a wolves goal will screw up united big time, good lord I am so proud again I might just burst!
