And we're back.

Can we sort out our disgusting away form, are we going to carry on the positive approach from pre-season, how long into the game before someone says on this thread that we're going down...questions, questions.

Matheus left?

That's where he played yesterday first half, he played well too.
Then moved to the right second half and got 2 assists. He just has to play on the right or centrally.

Deano - That's where he played yesterday first half, he played well too.

He did but I thought he was better on the right.

I'd play Nunes on the right and Sarabia on the left.

Otherwise the same team.

DW's team for me but I'm not convinced that'll be what we see. Thinking of the opposition, I wouldn't be shocked if Toti was LB and I don't think he is ready to start Fabio yet - but I hope it's in favour of Sarabia if he doesn't start.

I think Sarabia, Cunha & Neto will start. João Gomes in for Hodge and Bueno in for Aït-Nouri.

No hodge!? Sacrilege!

Jokes aside, same team for me. Although Neto/sarabia is a flip of a coin. Probably go Neto as he’s more direct and we will likely have to counter. So with that wouldn’t suprised if it’s 433 with a front 3 of Neto, cunha, hwang

Switch the wingers around and that would be my team.

Lop will play probably play Cunha through the middle though for some reason.

I'd be happy with DWs team but swap Neto and Nunes around.
Suspect it will be Sarabia-Cunha-Neto though.
I'd be happy with Sarabia instead of Neto.

4:12 remaining on the quiz

Same team for me - but I have a feeling it will be Sarabia with Cunha and maybe Bueno for RAN.

I don't get the sense from the pre-season that Lopetegui knows his best XI yet (even allowing for his tendency to rotate a lot). Could easily see any of Cunha, Silva, or Sasa start up top, and any of Bueno, Toti, or Ait-Nouri at LB.

Think he probably knows the team he'd like to put out but waiting on players either getting fully fit or settling into the team i.e. Sasa and Silva.
Be amazed if he starts Sasa. We still don't really know what's happening with RAN.

No such thing as a best XI. It's a squad game, even more so now with 5 substitutions. What's important is strength in depth & players who offer different solutions to specific problems that opposition teams might pose.

I think if we upgrade on Joe Hodge and keep everyone else then we've got that in midfield and attacking positions. I'm less sure about our centre halves, right backs and goalkeeper.

I think we're still going to struggle to score goals, but if we keep Silva we can't really justify signing another striker.

The thing is, if Lop was concerned about that, you’d think silva would be going. In saying that, we don’t sign players so maybe not!

I’m optimistic with what we’ve seen pre season, and in effect 2 new strikers this season.

Depends on whether Lopetegui really saw Raúl as an option. He said he wanted him to stay, he might want another player for that position.

Personally, I'd be happy with what we've got. If we pick up a few injuries it starts to look a bit bare but there are more pressing needs in other areas and we've got fuck all to spend.
