Man Utd (A) 13/5: Build-Up & Match Thread

Neto looked like he was running in treacle then.

Well that was sort of alright. No threat but silly error lets them in.

Other than the defending, the pressing, the transitions, the possession and the chance creation, we've been really good

Absolute dogshit.

Only the fact that Man Utd haven't got out of first gear that has kept the score down to 1-0.

I hope J.Gomes gets a decent run out, see what he can do against them.

We haven't been awful, we just don't really carry any threat and are sitting off them on the ball so it makes it look like a mauling. These ain't much kop themselves.

Were y'all asleep for the Brighton match? That was shocking.

This is kind of "meh" and we'd not even be losing if Kilman could go more than 20 minutes without a monumental mistake.

Bentley's distribution doesn't look much better than what we've been used to seeing.

It's exactly the same performance. Only Man Utd haven't pushed and been clinical like Brighton have.

I only come here for the hyperperbole. Our entire playing squad should've been killed after Brighton.

I don't even know how to rebut this; it feels like you're posting from an alternate reality.

The only difference is how well the opposition are punishing us. It's the same standing off, poor passing, zero tempo, lazy defending, etc.

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.

Some good periods of possession but with no threat and every time we lose the ball our back line looks completely astounded by this stunning change of possession and then proceed to lose all composure and look like they're playing football on an ice rink. Terrible rest defence as always.

Kilman is wank. Atrocious error for the goal aside, he's a black hole of possession. Someone please tell him to stop playing those crossfield passes! If he doesn't directly concede possession he puts his teammates in a position where they're guaranteed to lose the ball in the next 1 or 2 passes. Championship defender way out of his depth.

Going forward I'd expect more from Neto & Cunha but we're not at the stage to be making changes there just yet.

Agree. Although I'd add that anything Bentley has had to do he's done badly.
His kicking is nowhere near good enough for this level but fundamentally he looks like a solid keeper to me.

We've had a couple of periods where we've kept the ball well enough and passed it around nicely, but a minibus of nuns on a day trip to Scarborough have more attacking threat. The goal was a 'what the fucking hell was that Kilman' moment.

His handling and positioning look decent. Not had to make any reflex saves as yet, but had Anthony's tame shot covered early on.
