Loan Watch 2014/15 Season

He's out of contract in June, yeah?

We have a year's option but we surely won't take it up (hopefully we have learned from the sheer pointlessness of extending Cassidy's deal).

Guess it depends on if we think we can get a fee worth more than however much longer he'd be on our books.

I wouldn't think anyone will be willing to pay a fee for him. All the empirical proof is there that League One is his limit, hardly anyone at that level has money to be spending on fees let alone on a 30 year old who'll want reasonable money by their standards. We have no use for him so he should go, write it off as a horrible mistake, should never have happened.

Can't imagine there being too many #wafc fans expressing disappointment at the news that Leon Clarke has been sent back to Wolves!
He was ironically cheered off when subbed last week

From this week's fixtures;

George Saville played a cameo role in Bristol City's promotion party coming on for 11 minutes (and getting booked) in their 6-0 thumping of Bradford, after being left on the bench in the previous game. Sam Ricketts played another full game for Swindon, giving away a penalty in their 4-2 win. No sign of Ashley Carter for Chesterfield (is he back at Wolves?), while Jon Flatt remains on the bench for them.

Jake Cassidy has been getting more game time for Southend with two full games this week, but no goals to show for it. Bradley Reid got 68 minutes but no goal in another win for Telford.

Jake Cassidy has regressed so much. His time as a pro footballer is verrrrrry limited now.

He hasn't regressed he just hasn't progressed in the way we hoped he would when we got him from Wales

From this weekend;

Sam Ricketts played a full game once more, only to see his side lose dismally at home to relegated Yeovil. Liam McAlinden came on for the final 6 minutes for Fleetwood, who now can't make the play-offs. George Saville, Ashley Carter and Jon Flatt were all unused subs for their respective teams.

Southend came away with a fine 1-0 win at Exeter, of which Jake Cassidy played 75 minutes (again with no goal). They still have a chance of automatic promotion.

Telford continue to support the cliché of players playing without fear once their season's over, with a third consecutive win. Bradley Reid appeared as a sub this time, after 69 minutes, but didn't score.

From tonight's games;

Sam Ricketts played the full game for Swindon as their defence leaked three goals at home to Walsall and poor old Jake Cassidy lasted 55 minutes before being subbed for a player who grabbed the winner.

For anyone who's interested, Doncaster have put highlights of their 0-0 draw against Liam Mac's Fleetwood on YouTube.

Not really defending him but I do understand why his head wouldn't be in it. He probably thinks himself a bit above non-league, having been bought from there in the first place.

Anyway he's just 19 and as Jackett rightly says, if he's ever going to make it for us it will be partly because he's learned from this incident. If he doesn't, no real skin off our bones. £200k isn't a killing.

From this weekend;

Swindon boss Mark Cooper came under fire for resting seven players ahead of the play-offs and duly losing 3-0 to Preston. He's still using Sam Ricketts as the old head at the back though, who managed to complete the full game. Jake Cassidy played 62 minutes for Southend but was again off the pitch when they scored the winning goal, while Bradley Reid must have done something in training to win his place back in the Telford team, playing 82 minutes of a 2-1 defeat.

Ashley Carter spent the game on the bench for Chesterfield, while neither Liam McAlinden or George Saville made their squads.

Saville is back here now - he was on a 93 day loan which expired after last weekend.

I'm pretty annoyed with the Saville loan, we know no more about him now than when he went there, wouldn't give up on him just yet but he needs game time.....somewhere

article has been changed. definitely said it earlier...

Sam Ricketts was dropped (or rested) for Swindon's 1-1 draw at Colchester, coming on as sub after 67 minutes.

I presume he gets to stay for their full play-off campaign and a potential Wembley appearance?
