Live Match Discussion 2025/26

I think Real, Barca, PSG and Bayern will just have a pass the parcel of the CL for a good few years.
PL will get regular SF and the odd final appearance but won’t be good enough.
However I can see PL clubs being dominant in the EL and Conference league.

Albion won’t go. This 7 game run has got them out of it. Got two teams on the beach and Sheff Wed so 4 points at a minimum, likely 5+. So Leicester would need to win them all in all likelihood and Oxford have got 3 teams in the play off picture and going to have beat at least one of them.
Oxford have Millwall on the final day, by that point they could be guaranteed a playoff spot but can't finish 2nd, so could send out a reserve team (Sheff Wed did against us in what turned out to be Ken's final game)

With any points deduction looking like next season and Sheff Wed as big a walkover as you can get they probably need one win from their other 3 games.

Pointless predicting that division. Hands up who had Pompey getting 6 points from Boro and Ipswich.

Watch these fookers lose to Sheff Wed and still stay up though...

Only listened to it on the radio. You’d think that in a Champions League quarter final the home crowd would roar them onto victory but howls of derision and angst seemed to have been the order of the day.

Bayern and PSG would both shit over them from a great height. I think Atleti would probably play the Arsenal way but do it better - it would be a horrible watch.

So I think Arsenal will bow out before the final, and hopefully City stick about five past them as well.

I hope they get to the final then get rinsed by Bayern.
Hate to say it but Arteta gets more leeway for his style of play because of his nationality.
We get pricks like Balague who defend it saying it’s just adapting to a new style of play.
Very much a superiority complex in Spain when comes to football ie the Celta Vigo fan on here talking to us like we were clueless and had no football intelligence.

I can’t stand Arsenal, Arteta or his football. But I think the only leeway he is getting is because, like it or not, and I do not, his team are top of the league and in a Champions League semi final. The knives are plenty sharpened enough for him when he fails. In fact, if he were English, he’d already be on the way for a knighthood and the same knife sharpeners would be asking why he isn’t poised to take over the national team with his good honest footy.

The good honest football from the likes of Mick and Pulis wasn’t with a squad costing about a billion pounds.

Well that’s fair enough. And you know the easy ride English managers get as you’ve endured it with GON and now Bad Hand Bob, and presumably read about how great Dyche and Big Sam are at rescue jobs - all despite the hard evidence lying on the slab. While there’s some romanticism about foreign managers it’s a fact they don’t get anywhere near the slack of our own slackers.

Allardyce played some good stuff along the way at Bolton, the fat prick.

Some of Mick's Wolves stuff was very good indeed (think Kightly and Jarvis flying away down the wings and David Jones spraying passes).

Arteta's football is absolutely shite.

The 17 (?) pass move prior to Jones goal against Spurs is under rated.
