Live Match Discussion 2025/26

I've not really thought of Spurs as going down as realistic, their squad is too good and although I dislike him as a person, they've appointed a manager who knows what he's doing for the first 18 months at least. Lose today and it's on though
A very jammy goal wins it for Sunderland but Spurs never looked like scoring.

0-0 would have been a fair result but that's the sort of luck you have when you're on such a wretched run.

They're in deep, deep trouble and really don't look very good at all

The fact they've got players crying on the pitch (including the captain) already, with six games to go, shows me they could well be cooked

The lack of urgency in the last 5 mins from Spurs was amazing, it was like they thought it was 0-0 and were happy with the draw.

Very much going through the motions.

Im struggling to think of a comparably 'big' team as Spurs being in this position in the PL era?

There's not one in the PL era. If there is it's Villa, but Spurs are a level higher. A top 5 club in terms of size in any era at least since the 50s. Last one as big as them to go down was Spurs

Yep Spurs were in the Champions League Final in 2019 so you'd probably have to go back to Man Utd getting relegated in the early 70's for a vaguely suitable comparison.

Leeds got to the Champions League semis in 2001 and we're relegated a few seasons later, but that was obviously down to their severe financial issues and having to sell their best players which most definitely doesn't apply to Tottenham.

City in front at Chelsea.

On a side note I don't think there's a better suited manager to the pointless half-time interview than Rosenior.
