Live Match Discussion 2025/26

Tell you what, all these sides we were hoping to finish above (Sunderland, Brentford, Leeds etc) just keep on winning.

Lose tomorrow and we’ll be 8 points from safety.

6, because Fulham would be 17th

Brentford were brilliant tonight. That kind of effort and ability will be a match for any side in the league particularly when they are at home. Similar to Palace. Results like that breed confidence as well. Something we are sadly lacking.

Could the SPL title finally be leaving Glasgow?

Hearts 3-1 up vs Celtic. Go 8 points clear if they win (with a big GD advantage too as it stands).
Hopefully it'll happen but I can't see it especially with 29 games still to go.

Aberdeen started with 10 wins from 11 last season and then completely capitulated and Celtic ended up pissing the league.

Celtic are going backwards though, the squad is pretty poor now, very few difference makers in there. Iheanacho compared to some of the other forwards they've had is a huge downgrade.

Their fans hate the board and have been protesting for a while.

Thing is we were never going to permanently overhaul Villa, that's cuckoo land as Roy Keane would say
It looked like we could give them a run for their money when there was talk of ground improvements and we were signing the likes of Raul and Moutinho. Back to West Brom being our rivals, though to many that has always been the case.

Liverpool go one up briefly before VAR intervenes. Shame as the game would go up a notch with a goal.

Two different arguments though really.

1) That one, which is a very fair one, we did squander an opportunity
2) The thinking that because we'd finished above them 2 or 3 times that was it, we were bigger now, and now we've thrown that away. No, that never existed

In terms of actual local rivalry then Villa will never be the main ones to me, it'll always be Albion, regardless of where either are in the pyramid.

For lads in their 20s and 30s then it might well be Villa simply as we haven't played Albion very much at all in the last 15-20 years.

I don’t think anyone thought we were bigger but for a short period it felt like we could gain the upper hand for a longer period than we did.

Villa weren't that far away from going bust, I think Spurs almost got grealish stupidly cheap

Only took them five minutes to overturn that penalty, so clearly an obvious call...

Yep. One replay is all you needed.

Similarly Ekitiké's disallowed goal last night.
