Live Match Discussion 2024/25

Should have watched it, I was hoping Real Madrid might have made a game of it.
Would like to see a PSG v Barcelona final.

Fuck sake Arsenal gonna win it aren’t they

If you don’t mind state run cheat codes than PSG are just fine.
Man City with a French accent

well there you go, I was waiting for that, I don’t do politics in football, PSG are a joy to watch with a very good Coach.
If the Sheikh or the Saudi’s had fancied Wolverhampton and had us playing in the Champions League with some of the best players in the world I’d have probably got over it.

PSG are hated in France more than Utd here which I found very impressive

Yay, murderous regimes sportswashing their way into acceptability. Go them.

Fair enough, massive crowds at both Newcastle and Man City though, I’m just a bog standard football fan at the end of the day like most of them I would imagine.

Your prerogative

I fervently hope those clubs don’t win a corner and have everything already won stripped from them

Of the four semi finalists two are owned by Americans, one Qataris and the other is Barcelona who have pulled more financial shenanigans than any club in Europe. Take your pick as none are paragons of virtue. At least the other three aren’t managed by Arteta.

Any Billionaire owner normally comes with a list of questionable practices. Can’t stand Vile fans taking a moral high ground in arguments when criticising state owned clubs or those who have engineered the rules to their benefit. They tend not to look at their selling of their own ground to themselves or purchasing a whole load of shit with exorbitant fees in the summer only for them to disappear out on loan without trace.

Although not literally state-run, I'm not sure our moral highground is that steady with Chinese ownership
Yep.

I don't think there is a side in the Premier League that isn't at least a little bit shady?

They're all of different levels of course. Newcastle and City being up there.

Football is greedy, ruthless and horrifically corrupt, unfortunately we also love the game, so what can we do?
