Live Match Discussion 2024/25

Nuno doesnt care if people hate his tactics, he'll just point to the results (and most Forest fans will do the same). Coaches of smaller, less wealthy teams have to do whatever's required to compete.
Unless nobody is in the ground and your incompetentant CEO thinks 12 year olds on the Internet are the voice of the fans.

Damn right. It's fucking football, not synchronized swimming.

Yep I think Fergie told Pulis when he bought Stoke up that if the big clubs play you and say nice things afterwards it means you’re not doing your job properly.
Big clubs love playing pretty teams that run out steam.

Yep it is, but remember it starting to rumble very loud after our first season in the PL under him.
Morons. In our second season we could be fantastic to watch at times anyway. It’s just the season of Covid plus a few stupid months at spurs that really exaggerated that idea too

This is it the fact that so many people didn’t realise that the 20/21 season needed a big huge asterisk next to it is beyond me.

That's true, it all depends on results.
Some of our fans were starting to get a bit whingeing and decided a comfy 13th wasn't worth the defensive football.

Dipshits don't understand that you can play lovely football without possession as much as with it.

He didn't help himself on occasion with Spurs, I have a feeling he wanted out pretty quickly, he shouldn't have taken the job being about 8th choice. With the captain on strike in all but name I think most managers would have failed there at that time

Lucky for them they got to see Lage's amazing tactics serve up 2 goals in 8 games before the calendar year was out.

2 summers of comical decisions, sack Nuno because of poor football and dropping to 13th.
Appoint Lage, play even worse football but think coming 10th is legitimate reason to keep him even though he’d lost the plot by February.

That's the thing though, were they? I mean you'll find people on the internet to say anything, but with the exact same performances in front of 32k I doubt there'd have been more than the odd groan in the ground and Mark wumming on here. I've said before I stopped watching most games from around Xmas onwards as it was a facsimile of football, yet bizarrely due to the availability seemed to have more scrutiny. That's without taking into account a potential change in performances in front of an audience.

Southampton team selection in the cup still deserves criticism though and it's ironic that he started the journey to alienate MGW

I'm saying at 2-1 up and peppering them with shots, there's no way we lose to Albion in front of a full house at Molineux.

And that result had an impact on the thinking of the smooth-brained.

The ceremonial burning of the Willy Boly poster in the Costas

I think the sacking of Nuno is dressed up as wanting to change direction and better football, however it’s probably more to do with the fact he probably told Jeff some uncomfortable truths about how the squad needed refreshing.
The poor performances from January onwards was just a convenient excuse.
Still not giving leeway for the Raul incident and bizzare covid circumstances was just stupid thinking by the board.

This forum isn't necessarily indicative of the wider fan base. Generally on here most were fine and as you say not much criticism at the games but other SM were full of it.

I don't think any social media is indicative of the match going fan base.

Oh it isn't but do the club hierarchy care that much about the match going fan base, recent decisions suggest not to me.
In the widest sense no, when it comes to the flak getting too close to Shi then evidence would suggest yes. I don't think he's sacking him with Nuno had a dream being sang heartily every week. I do think that fallout was when not if though
