Isn’t it funny how if you play to Neto’s strengths, he turns up. Same with any footballer, if you ask them to play a system which is new to them, they’ll struggle, but play them where they’re comfortable and see them flourish. I don’t want to say it but *maybe* credit to Maresca for spotting that and switching things up?

Understand the point made, though Villa aren’t the first team to play like this against Chelsea and Chelsea struggle. I thought Maresca set them up well (okay perhaps not solely for Neto’s benefit)

With a big club being in league 1 and getting promoted you kind of expect them to just sit comfortably in mid table at worst.
But just take a look at Derby starting 11 and it’s not championship standard considerably.

Watching Arsenal they’ve morphed into the 2010-2014 version of themselves.
Always enough points to come top 4 but never good enough to get near a title.
Quality defending by Gabriel for the goal marking no one at near post then just watches the ball go over his head.
