That's true but at a time when PGMOL are under pressure and pretty much reviled by everyone why give anyone more ammo to have a go, theyre fucking useless, it all looks so amateurish.

I don't think you can appoint referees that way. That would take him out of any Sheff U, Burnley, Luton, Brentford, Everton, Forest or Palace game over the last few weeks. That's over 1/3 of the league and depending on the fixtures up to 70% of the games. It's just not practical

Margin of error just moves the decision line a bit. The contentious decision is still tight in the line though

Yes the line is moved. But at that point it's clearly offside to the naked eye (and on screen) and doesn't warrant forensic analysis, which is what everyone currently detests. The offside is acceptable at that point even if it's right on the line. OK it might be "just" behind the line and still technically a cm or two off, but there's no clear advantage and the goal stands.

I firmly beleive this would be more of an "acceptable margin". You might be minutely offside but you can at least accept that it isn't a clear enough advantage to rule a goal out.

For all Maguire's faults as a player he showed class and true sportsmanship in shaking the hands of the Coventry players.

Maguire gets way to much focus on his errors, yep his not the best nevertheless his in a squad full of mistake ridden players who get a much easier ride.
From an England perspective has always been ok and as much as people want to ridicule him he’s been to a semi final and final which is more than some seemingly better CH have done.
