Live Match Discussion 2018/19

How have Everton spent all this money yet still have a front 3 containing a combination of Niasse, Calvert Lewin, Tosun and Walcott

Crazy really isn’t it! They have had a fairly favourable start to the season too so will be interesting to see what’s happens if or when they were to hit a bad patch. They still have players to come into the team I suppose.

Really missed Richarlison, as Tosun has had an off day.

Sigurdsson has been awful for them so far. Has done basically fuck all this season aside from his header today.

Got Marseille v Guingamp on while waiting for MoTD and it's fucking awful, terrible football. Plus Pearce is commentating.

Good header from Thauvin puts OM 1-0 up although the defending from a throw in left a load to be desired.

If you can look up Payet's goal for OM, he's just scored an unbelievable second for them. 20 yard volley with the inside of the foot curled over the keeper and in off the bar. Brilliant goal.

Thauvin bags his second and OM's third, another unreal goal. Controlled a long ball with the most bizarre first touch I've seen, cut inside and popped a left footer into the far top corner. As good as if not better than Payet's goal. Guingamp have gone to shit since the opener but OM's finishing has been another level.

And 4-0 with Mitroglou getting on the scoresheet. 3 goals in 10 minutes and the game has completely changed from boring as fuck to an absolute massacre.

Is that the Thauvin who was at Newcastle?

Yeah it was him. He was fucking shit at Newcastle, and while I'll admit to not watching a fat lot of French football he looked quality in the second half yesterday and both of his goals were excellent, the second was absolutely first rate.

Southampton against Brighton on MNF is a snoozefest and a half. Neither team look particularly good. Brighton, in particular, look awful.

Ings scores now Brighton pull one back, 2-1!

If Southampton don’t win now just wondering what Mark Hughes can blame the referee for.

89th minute penalty Brighton, Murray equalises

Looks like we dodged a bullet with Jurgen Locadia - wow... he’s rank.
