Thing is, intention is now irrelevant.

This is not on VAR though, just the rule being shit.
The minute we start trying to judge a player's intentions, all illusion of objectivity goes out the window.

Saiss for Neves.

Neves has had a good 2nd half.

Yes, but these situations will be ruled all the same way, regardless.

The same doesn't happen if was a penalty ruling.

Like to see Vinagre on and Johnny switched.
Doherty understandbly looks off the pace.

The issue is, we’ve already seen two clear undeliberate handballs this weekend not given. So how can you then quote “the law” and chalk out a perfectly good goal a day later?

Either the law is the law and all referees stick to that, or you don’t put a stupid rule that’s impossible to implement in place to begin with.

Game is gone.

Laws of the game re: handball and offside need serious attention. VAR just shows you a super slo-mo replay, it’s what is being interpreted that is bollocks.

Disagree. With an off-side situation either it is off-side or it isn't. It is clear cut.

The rule is different based on attacking and defending. All hand balls on attacks will be given. While defensively / penalty situation, the rule is just the same as it was.

The law is for balls that end up in the goal not those being defended

VAR will take time to settle down - well at least the interpretation being put on it

Number of questions over it with decisions this weekend

1 more sub available - do we go for this or sit it out for the draw (not a bad result here)

Glad it's Nuno's decision rather than mine

Disagree. With an off-side situation either it is off-side or it isn't. It is clear cut.

Is it? I thought that the offside had to be a part of the body that could legally score a goal, yet I am sure one of the decisions yesterday was given for an arm being offside. So unclear in the way the laws have been re-written. Means the morons at PGMOL get to interpret the rules, always a recipe for cock ups and mistakes.
