How long will we stick around this year

Draw is made prior to the Sunderland v Sheff Wed game tomorrow

We are in the Northern Section (no seeded teams this year), so will face one of the following

Aston Villa
Blackburn Rovers
Blackpool
Burton Albion
Derby County
Doncaster Rovers
Everton
Fleetwood Town
Huddersfield Town
Hull City
Leeds United
Leicester City
Lincoln City
Macclesfield Town
Mansfield Town
Middlesbrough
Newcastle United
Nottingham Forest
Preston North End
Rochdale
Rotherham United
Stoke City
Walsall
West Bromwich Albion
Sunderland / Sheffield Wednesday

Would quite like to draw villa at home for the bantz.

I suspect that though we'll be fielding weaker teams than for league games, our "reserve" team would still be highly likely to be top of the championship, so expect us to get few a few rounds.

What's our reserve side then? Who would play the Coady role? Would Dendoncker be risked in a league cup fixture? Who would play right back?

So many questions.

If we drew someone lower in the pyramid than us, we'd probably send out something like (depending if anyone leaves):

-------------------Ruddy----------------

---------Batth----Hause----John----------

Buur-------Saiss-------MGW----------Giles

------Ashley-Seal----Bonatini---Bright------

The likes of Goncalves, Samuels, Ennis, Watt to join England's Will Norris on the bench.

A bit stronger if we draw a PL team.

Don't think any of the leper squad will feature whatever happens (even if you could argue that German Phil is better than Danish Oskar, Zyro is better than Ashley-Seal etc).

I wonder what is going to happen with Ronan and if he'll make it into the League Cup squads.

He's very definitely behind Goncalves in the pecking order for a CM spot and didn't appear to come into contention at all for any first team games in pre-season. Really I don't want him to be at the club by the time we play a League Cup tie, I want him to be out on loan at a Champ/L1 club who'll use him properly so we can assess where he is in 6-12 months.

Harsh on Ashley-Seal, looks like he could be a decent player going forward.

He does look ok. However, if you're a random mid-table Championship table team facing up against another random mid-table Championship table team this weekend, you've got a gap in your front three that needs filling, you have no stake in Wolves whatsoever and you are offered a one game loan of either Michal Zyro or Benny Ashley-Seal, which do you think most would take?

Assuming you have a scout and seen them play in the last 6 months Benny everyday.

Zyro just looks broken, he makes Leo look like Traore.

Charlton fans quite liked Zyro.

The point he is he has done something in senior football, Benny hasn't. If we were looking to win a one off game in isolation and they were the only two choices, then Zyro would probably be the better bet right now. However we know he has no future here, Benny might, so we would (and probably should) play him instead.

I'd imagine Vinagre would get in ahead of Giles tbh.

I'd imagine we wouldn't play him as he'll be in the first team.

No local derbies especially WBA as cant be arse with the hype and aggro. Plus Nuno would probably feel more obliged to field a stronger side.

Agreed, every chance we will have 1 point from 3 games coming into this with an away game at West Ham to come, needs to be a complete second 11. Wouldn't want to offer some sort of hollow victory to Albion or Villa or us play any starters

Macclesfield or Blackpool at home would do

Lincoln at home, give all my imp supporting mates the chance to sit in a quality stadium watching quality football

Villa at home would be great to give them some stick.

Derby, Burton, Forest, Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday or Lincoln away in that order of preference.

Fleetwood/ Blackpool away please can get a ticket in the home end then
