Jeremy Corbyn

Whereas Cruela is taking us far further back in time with the creation of new grammar schools, families begging for food (complex reasons why?) and having a international business secretary who wants UK workers to give up safe working conditions and pay so that we can compete with the sweatshops of the far east.

I quite like the ideas in some of the leaked manifesto. Repealing the trade union act of 2016 and rolling out and repeating on a larger scale the quite recent successful nationalisation of train services to name but a couple. The Royal mail can be left where it is though, they should just ensure that daily deliveries are adhered to.

Quite. Factor in May's voting record on LGBT rights and that she's in favour of bringing back Fox hunting, yeah really modern party the conservatives are eh????

Frank, for someone who bangs on about a lack of balance your self-awareness of the party you clearly support is quite embarrassing.

I don't understand why Frank finds it so difficult to give a straight answer these days when people try to debate something against him. I can only assume it is someone else using his name (certain former posters..) as he certainly didn't used to be like this - he was the reason I joined this forum from 606 (those were the days...)

It's the same with FOSUN and Lambert as in these threads.

Must say i am impressed by Corbyn's abilties. Daily Mail are blaming him for driving over the foot of a photographer yesterday. An amazing thing to do when he was in the back seat of the car, now that is some driving skillz there JC.

Labour have no chance when pretty much all of the papers are so unbelievably biased against them. Tories could come out and say they were going to slaughter every first born child and they'd still win by a landslide.

I think they're going with the strategy of saying absolutely nothing of any substance. Because who needs policies, eh. Just trust us, alright? The economy has been doing brilliantly for seven years, ignore those figures and analysis, you can prove anything with facts and long-standing experience of how to read them. Jeremy Hunt is doing a fantastic job. Strong and stable.

This is a fair summary. A blank cheque for a blank politician. No ideas, no personality, no philosophy, no warmth, no empathy, no substance, no credibility...nothing.

Impressive speech and Q&A session at Chatham House for Corbyn today.

I think this may be the first election where a government is elected without a coherent manifesto.

True, but Corbyn has done nothing to combat that. Surely as his first act as leader he should have been asking what their weaknesses were and then act on them.

But instead he appointed Seamus Milne.

Yes, I agree. He speaks a lot of sense in regards to Foreign Policy or rather not creating enemies. Shame his shadow Foreign Secretary isn't up to it.

....along with the shadow home secretary.

I think you will find there are Labour supporters on here who just tell us their latest announcement. I notice you do not bring them to task.

And as you have already confirmed that you will be voting Labour, then nothing anyone said would change your mind.

Frank, there are currently 2476 posts on this thread, and you're top of the pile, with 206 - so 8%

But on the Theresa May thread there are 2176 posts of which you've made 93 - 4%

So you're twice as likely to talk about Corbyn as the party you support. But even then, those 206 posts are just tedious repetitions of beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions, beer, sandwiches, unions...

Along with the other they were appalling choices and I can't stand Watson either. Difficult situation when the party is split and there aren't many to choose from. Then again the likes of Galloway (who would make an excellent Foreign Secretary) were expelled. I find it a shame that a progressive and anti-label left has not emerged but the Cons should really have been took to the cleaners.
