January 2022 Transfer Thread

I can’t think of one single ‘kick in the bollocks’ since Fosun took over. A massive PR implosion, some dodgy appointments at board level and some questionable transfer windows but nothing anywhere near compared to what we’ve seen before. We’re in zero danger of going down and I still think we’ll flex the financial breathing space we’ve built next summer.

We'll just gloss over the Zenga months... 😁

I hope we do splash the cash, we're due a splurge.

FA Cup Semi was a full blown kick in the bollocks, though not Fosun's fault.

I'll be surprised if we do any first XI business in Jan, but the Sanches deal resurrected would do me, then sort the defence out in the summer

West Brom, Brighton, Burnley, West Ham, and that was just last season. Nothing to do with going down. I don't think we'll be anywhere near that mess. I'm talking about over the years. In fact 50 years of me following WWFC. I've learnt to never, ever, be over confident about any result against any team.

We don't talk about Roger Hansbury round these parts.

Palace 97 was the biggest kick in the balls for me. 2-0 down and deserved to be, we were shit. Bang, Jamie Smith of all people scores in the 90th minute and it's a precious away goal, we're probably marginal favourites again. Of course we concede again.

Bolton 95 you just knew after we missed so many chances first leg. We couldn't defend and they had the (fluke) away goal so we were never going to make it.

If you’re going to take every bad performance as a kick in the bollocks you might want to borrow Alice Cooper’s jockstrap.

Wayne at football insider been at the glue again. Says we will take £18m for Adama and can’t sign Hwang as we are broke. Dickhead.

He may or may not be posting from his Mam's spare room, but we have a net spend of around £0 for the last two and a half years, so he isn't that far wide of the mark on that one.

Plus I reckon that's about what we'd get for Adama. 18 months left on his deal, can't get in our team, 6 goals in 86 games.

There is a significant difference between being “cash-strapped” and being unwilling to spend, although the net effect is much the same.

Bruno has spoken twice about the Jan window and twice mentioned being aware of the finances. Now it could be a plan to drive down prices as teams think we are skint, but the great FFP swindle didn't manage to do that. More likely he's been told after Hwang there's not much left.

If that's the case Jeff Shi has morphed into an Chinese version of Mike Ashley and will be treated as such- deservedly so.

It's not Jeff Shi though, is it. Don't be Jinky.

Fosun know what it'll take to get us in the top four. They don't want to spend that as the risk/reward is off the scale. I have no issue with that, but don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's raining.

Shi is the willing mouthpiece for the faceless. Its fair he gets the stick imo if he doesnt deliver or continues to trot out ffp nonsense.

Jota couldn't get into our team either ;)

And who'd buy Adama for his goalscoring? Or ever did? Seems a slightly agenda-based stat to keep quoting...
