ACL for Neto too then by sounds of things. Impact like it was laterally leans more to a lateral ligament (MCL/LCL) which aren’t anywhere near as bad, he also carried on running (this doesn’t mean it can’t be an ACL). Guess we will have to wait until wolves come out with the diagnosis.

I think he was injured going into the game too?

Players who are carrying injuries always seem to be nowhere near being uninjured. I sometimes wonder why managers bother

How do we know though? I'm sure players are carrying injuries a lot, but in most cases we don't know, so wouldn't be aware of a drop in performance.

Nuno said after the game it was an injury he picked up on International duty that they were trying to manage

It's probably confirmation bias on my part, I'm sure that when a good player stops playing as well you then hear about them carrying a knock or something.

You're always carrying something. I played men's football for more or less 15 years after I turned 16, I was never ever fully fit. There's always something. And that's at pretty low levels at times, not training every day either so far less of a risk of picking something up outside of a match.

If you're carrying something where it's affecting performances, what's the point in carrying on?

You can’t “carry” a knee ligament injury. You could carry on with a mild sprain with pain relief/steroid injection and heavy strapping but you’d barely be able to move and it just wouldn’t happen.

If that article is to be believed and it’s 6 months, then it’s an ACL, nothing else has that long a recovery time. You certainly can’t carry that, and in the 1/100 it’s a partial tear you definitely wouldn’t play with it!

From memory he didn’t have any strapping. He had a dressing below his knee cap before a cut/grace which had tape round it to secure it. It certainly wouldn’t have been any help to a mild sprain or a knee ligament.

We will just have to wait for Spiers and pray that article was wrong and it’s not another ACL injury.

I remember Lee Dixon saying that in the 650 club and international games that he played he was only completely clear of any injury in about 20 of them. It's an occupational hazard and down to medical staff to manage.

No Neto, no Jonny, no Traore (probably) and no idea about Raul - next season worries me if we don’t spend serious cash.
