Thought it was stone wall. Douglas Luiz puts his leg across which knocks Pogbas leg into his other leg.

I saw the reaction before I saw the incident and now I’m a little confused at the fuss. It looked a penalty live and the replays don’t suggest it was an error let alone a clear one.

Yeah great news on Jonny. We've missed him. Having him back will be a huge boost to the team, in terms of his defensive ability but also his pressing etc. I reckon he'd be comfortable in a back 4 as well.

It's a shame on Podence - he's the kind of player that can just make something happen out of nothing. He's also in my FF team so that's annoying!

The only thing I'd ask would be do we need to do that? We have Neves who plays that defensive midfield role, and is pretty good in there. Most possessions won in the Prem this season I think

Sounds like the perfect attributes for a very good full back to me...

I would say no personally. You are right about all those attributes he has, and I think he is such a fantastic player to have, but I wouldn't be trying to convert him at this stage of his career and the skillsets are different anyway IMO.

Agree with Trips that we have Neves for that position anyway, and Donck is a good back up. We need someone to play as the '8' long term which maybe could be Vitinha in the same mould as Moutinho. Like others I think we need someone with a bit more mobility if the ten is going to be Podence/Vitinha though.

I've always thought that fullbacks and midfielders (proper CMs not your fancy No 10s or "creative" midfielders) have very similar skill sets.

If Podence is out for a while then Vitinha is going to get the chance to show what he can do.

Has gone from nowhere to be seen to first team player in 2 weeks. Decent 30 mins at United before fading but was anonymous at Brighton.

Need him to step up otherwise we are going to continue to struggle and it will be another mark against the summer recruitment.
